When a "PRO", who's highly respected as a QB evaluator defines Alex's traits, you tend to respect and at least, re-evaluate.

But of course, you know more than a Professional.

Funny how everyone thought they knew more than Sing and Nolan...but with Harbaugh...it's different.

Funny how now, we are comparing a QB specialist to a highly successful DEFENSIVE Coordinator and an overwhelmed former pro who just didn't have the experience nor the patience to be a NFL HC. Now we finally have a coach who knows QBs.

Obviously, you and I have a different definition of the word 'durable'

I think it means the ability to play for a long period of time while staying relatively healthy. Alex has not done that, no matter what you want to believe or no matter how much blind faith you have in Harbaugh.

He missed 5 games his rookie season, half of 2007, all of 2008, and 6 games in 2010. Not durable. Come on man. People said Frank was injury prone, but if anything, Alex is way less durable than Gore.

And I never said that I know more than Harbaugh. But, if you forgot, this is a message board and we're allowed to express our thoughts and opinions on this team. I guess we should stop doing Mock Drafts, right? I mean, it's all up to Harbaugh and Baalke, right? Why f**k around and act like we know it all when at the end of he day those will be calling the shots. Pleeeeease. Don't give me the 'he knows more than you' attitude. It's sports. Sheesh. No one hates Alex Smith for no reason. We 'haters' have a very good reason for not liking him. He was the #1 overall pick for my favorite team in all of sports. he didn't live up to expectations. He flopped. He didn't produce. Now, if he was good, I'd be all for Smith and you wouldn't hear a word out of my mouth about him. Up until last year, I was one of his biggest defenders. Kapeesh?

Point is, sure, say what you have to say. However, how many times must you say it? We all know by now how everyone feels... so it seems more like post-padding or unhealthy obsession to repeat yourselves so frequently about the same topic. There wouldn't be anyone defending Alex repeatedly if there were not people bashing him prior to that defense.

You have to know that at some point, it just becomes whining and an inability to accept what may be.

And the facts are for 6 years this guy hasn't produced any tangible results. It's really sad that we actually get excited b/c he played a good half against the Saints in a game they loss. Only thing he has shown us over 6 years is that he's inconsistent.

Funny how now, we are comparing a QB specialist to a highly successful DEFENSIVE Coordinator and an overwhelmed former pro who just didn't have the experience nor the patience to be a NFL HC. Now we finally have a coach who knows QBs.

No matter what, that alone makes one smile.

It's even more pathetic that you believe a College "QB Guru" is the recipe for QB success when the majority of the elite QB's did not have the luxury of having one. Funny how the top 3 QB's year in and year out developed under defensive head coaches (Big Ben, Peyton, Brady).

It's so pathetic that we have to exhaust all out options before people can move on. He's gotta go through all the offensive co-ordinators, a defensive head coach, an offensive head coach. Then we have to surround him with elite talent....then get him a top 5 D. Too funny.

Peyton developed under OC Tom Moore throughout his entire career till now. Never heard of Tom Moore?

Brady developed under shady methods of SpyGate... how hard is it to develop while knowing what defenses are doing?

Big Ben had a strong run game and defense to lean on.

I hope JH can do it at the pro level, but he has just coached two QBs to be their best and has yet to do it at the pro level. Where as if you compare with walsh, who first developed and made virgil carter look good as well as help develope Fouts and also had a hand in Ken Anderson's developement before revitalizing Stanford's program.

Not dissing the guy, backing him 100%, but won't crown him king or emperor, at best prince for now and hope he is not a pauper.

This CBA thing is sure crimping his style though

Exactly you and SonocoNinerFan nailed it. I just can't take it anymore. I don't hate the guy, and I know it's not all his fault. I just want some wins, and some consistency. I'm tired of all my friends asking man when the Niners gonna get a qb. Or giving me that strange face and saying dam yall still got Alex Smith starting.
