I wasn't trying to make Alex look good. I was trying to show the whole picture. There is some good and some bad. Both sides of the argument have good points, so I was showing that.

I don't think Alex Smith is a good quarterback. I'm just not going to argue with Harbaugh if he doesn't agree with me.

This is easy, Alex. Shaun Hill is the only close competitor, and he didn't do as well with Martz as Alex did with Mike Johnson..

However, your point may be a good one, Bob. If you remove the NFC West teams in addition to the teams Alex played with Jimmy Raye, his total passer rating would be 70.8... if I did my calculations correctly... which isn't a certainty.

So anyone who doesn't believe in all the excuses Alex fans make for him is ignorant? Football is a team game, but certain positions are more important. A great QB can make up for sub standard play at a lot of other positions. Have a sub standard QB and the rest of the team needs to play at pro bowl level or you aren't going win many games.

Who said Troy can be elite? Stop reaching.

Troy went 3-3 with no training camp, a limited playbook and 2 career games under his belt. Alex went 3-7 with 2 training camps to learn the same playbook, At least 2 years experience with his teammates and a complete playbook.

Try to argue with as many cherry picked stats as you can...whether you like/dislike Troy/Alex the numbers don't lie.
