PETER!!!! Pete Hanson is a friends step brother, Pete used to work with us summers when he was i High School! Played at Arizona, blocked 2-3 kicks in a bowl game (his college highlight) Pete's Dad coached Harghbaugh in high school! Hell yea! Way to go Pete!, man I am so calling his bro!

WOW they did a great job on Pete's Bio, but the left out swept up construction sites!

Awesome my best friend’s cousin’s sister’s brother’s dad’s girlfriend’s roommate's brother was Jim Harbaugh

Sorry I meant half brother not step brother, same mom different dad, but you would know that as your best friend’s cousin’s sister’s brother’s dad’s girlfriend’s roommate's brother was Jim Harbaugh.
Sorry to offend you but I am really stoked for a friend and his whole family, Pete's dad coaches at Pally, and this family lives for football! WOW next time I'll keep my excitement to myself....and you should keep your excrement to yourself

That's awesome. Maybe he can get you tickets to the games.

Funny that wan't my first thought...but it did cross my mind!

the only coaching change I don't like is not retaining Pete Hoener. Hoener took the same job with the Panthers and is known as one of the best TE coaches in the game. He did a nice job developing VD and Walker. I guess Roman is really the head TE coach anyway.

That's what I thought too, but it doesn't look like the case.

The press release issued by the Niners today did not mention Roman’s role with the tight ends. I’ll update once I hear back from a team spokesman. (UPDATE: Davis is the primary tight ends coach).

Here are Reggie Davis' and Peter Hansen's coaching profiles. There isn't really anything that wasn't in the articles anouncing the hires. I just looked it up because I wanted to put faces to the names. So if anyone is interested here you go.

is it just me or does it seem like we have an entirely gigantic coaching staff. idk how many it takes to fill a standard coaching staff, obviously there is someone for every position but it seems like we have been hiring a coach or two almost every other day now. i like the people selected dont get me wrong it just seems like we have a large coaching staff. dont we have like 2 coaches at some spots like d-line for example?

We had a crap ton of coaches last year under Singletary. You will see more coaches at positions with a large amount of players to it. Secondary and LB positions can have 2 coaches each. We had that under Singletary. You have at least 8 LBs and at least 8 DBs on a team at all times. You can't really give enough attention to all of those by having two coaches total.

Besides adding quality and offensive/defensive assistants is minimal cost to the 49ers payroll. And it reduces the logistical work the core coaching staff needs to do prior to gameday and practices.

2 more guys that have wroked with Harbaugh before, looks like all we need now is a pass rushing coach

Lets hope its not a former player that played in the NFL 30 years ago...

Julian Peterson

I would go as far as Charles Haley, but thats pushing it for me

Melvin Oliver, Niner Legend?[/quote]

If by Legend you mean Sasquatch or Loche Nest moster as in believed to exist but no one has every seen, then yeah, I agree...

By the way, what in the world is V.Davis going to learn from a scrub football player that only caught one TD in his whole career? In Davis's mind he is the best of all time, I can't wait to see how he takes learning from this 34 yr old form scrub.
