People really think Alex Smith is returning???

Christ, there really are some dim bulbs on this board! Forget what Harbaugh said about "wanting to work with Alex." He's currently evaluating the ENTIRE roster, all of whom are technically Niners until March 3rd. I'm not sure if Harbaugh was asked what he thought of Alex, but his comments, although he may believe them, are more about being politically correct than anything else. Why would he come out and blast any of the players at this point? He may think Smith has talent, but there's no way Harbaugh is naive about how the fan base, or more importantly, Trent Baalke feels about Smith and the current QBs (see Baalke's "the future QB is not currently on the roster" comment). Plus, all new coaches want "their guy", ie, a draft pick or free agent that most closely fits the offensive scheme. NOT a 6-year project who has experienced way more failure than success. And here's the trump card... THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY ALEX CHOOSES TO RETURN! I mean, those of you who think otherwise, are you freakin serious?!?! Other than his inflated bank account, what will Alex take away as a positive from his time with the Niners. Multiple coaches lost faith in him, the fans despise him, and he's a LOSING QB with this team. It only makes sense for everyone invloved--Alex, Harbaugh, Baalke, ownership, and the fans--to have a fresh start. Blake_Fever [ Edited by Blake_Fever on Jan 30, 2011 at 14:50:21 ]

I don't think Harbaugh and Alex give a sh** what the fans think! Its Harbaugh's teams! He can do whatever he wants. If wants to keep alex, he will. He can careless what the fans think
