But interestingly, Harbaugh is not a great X's and O's man. In fact, Stanford really took off after Harbaugh hired Greg Roman on offense and Vic Fangio on defense. Offensively, Roman, now the 49ers offensive coordinator, was known as the brains of the operation with his use of motion and emphasis on the run. Roman also had the luxury of an extremely bright quarterback in Andrew Luck who sometimes called three plays in the huddle and then chose the best one at the line of scrimmage.

i'm stoked too, on a side note my friend whos a seahawk fan is trying to act like david shaw was the brains behind it all, i told him hes only saying that cus shaw stayed at stanford, had he come to 49ers w/ harbaugh my friend would be calling the water boy the brains behind it all

That article by Lynch was bulls**t though (contrary to other credible articles, with references from credible sources; players/coaches), Harbaugh is solid at X's & O's, and game-planning.

too much optimism............seems familiar....oh yeah, thats right....when Raye got the job, everyone went coo-coo over that hire as well.

I like the Harbaugh hire..........but basically, we've instilled 2 new guys on top (Baalke and Harbaugh), and now we're replacing our coaching ranks with coaches that ended up in the college ranks for a reason.

Very risky..........

It's time to believe bro!

I really don't see how Jim and his coaching staff will do any worse then Nolan and Sings! Or dare i say Erickson!!!

this lynch article cited no sources or referenced how harbaugh isn't an x's & o's guy and how Roman is the brains of the operation.

really stupid article

Former TE credits Roman for resurrection - Eric Branch

Quote:
“What we did at Stanford was a direct reflection of what our players told us they could (do) and that’s kind of how we (do it) — put a big, broad system in and then start to see what your players tell you in practice, what they’re good at,” Roman said. “At then it starts to shift one way or another. To just say, ‘Here’s the system, here’s what we’re doing,’ we’ll never do that … the players direct where the system goes.”

Good read about roman... I really like this coaching staff actually i think it's like having norv turner back, he's not going to have his players do something they can't, he's going to figure what they can and can't do, and he's going to put the players in a chance to be great football players because of this, like norv did!!
