Some of you forgot what crow tastes like huh? Wait until the 2011 draft? Really? I said the 2010 offseason was one the 49ers best off-seasons in a while. Face it; Dilfer was right. Give credit where it's due.

That draft was overrated.

We got Iupati, reached for Davis and traded a 4th round pick to move up a few slots, and none of the other picks cracked the starting lineup....A lineup when you look at it from top to bottom, isn't very good.

Kyle Williams was injured, Mays should have never been benched, Dixon should have been spitting time with westbrook and Gore all season long, Philip Adams was what a 7th round pick? Still turned out pretty damn good for a 7th.Iupati well he is solid. Davis while you call him a reach he was the right pick. I feel like I'm missing someone, oh well. You call it overrated I call it pretty damn good. Overall I would give our draft a B

Actually I think our first 5 picks started at least one game...Davis, Iupati, Mays, Bowman, Dixon. All our draft picks made the team too. Go look at Dallas' last couple drafts.

CJ Spillman was a quality pickup for special teams. LaBoy had his moments too.

I think we got some LB's that need to step up, Lawson, Haralson, and Brooks. I put that on the players, not Baalke or whoever drafted them.

It's too early to grade Baalke's first draft. The only thing you can say with certainty is that it wasn't a failure. I think they got exactly who they wanted in the early rounds and some good value later on. In terms of strategy, I liked it. Were they the right moves? It remains to be seen.
Meh, I'm not gonna put a lot of stock in what Dillis has to say. He's the guy who tried to tell us the Hoss was gonna be a "superstar" oc in the NFL. Has anyone ever heard him say anything negative about the 9ers?

As for Baalke. We just don't know yet. Last years draft was nothing special.
Its not like other teams were banging on his door to interview him for any position in their org. He also stood by and watched us field a team with no QB. Didn't even bother to take a flier in the draft. I don't hate the guy. I'll assume he had something to do with us landing Harbaugh. (hopefully) Let him get another draft or two under his belt and we'll see.

IMO most of us didn't know much about Baalke before last week. After the media blitz we know plenty about him now and I'm convinced his hiring was not the "take the easy route and don't rock the boat" situation that many fans believed. He's still learning on the job like Jed but he's definitely qualified and has put in the time.
Baalke obviously has a good eye for talent. I was never opposed to him as GM. My only concern was that the franchise needed a league-wise veteran administrator in addition to just a "football" GM. Now with the announcement they are looking for just that kind of person to add to the staff, I am fine with Baalke calling the shots. I'm sure that was something that was planned much earlier but the need to secure Baalke as GM and then sign Harbaugh took precedence. Now they look to complete the circle.

I lived to long to think that anything is going to cure all the problems in the world. However, I recall a statement by a C. S. Lewis, a favorite writer of mine who said, "when you find yourself going in the wrong direction, the sooner you turn 180 degrees and head back in the correct direction, the sooner you will reach your destination."

It looks as though Jed has turned this thing around and now has it headed in the correct direction. Now the challenge is to keep it headed there.
Trent is right on the money in regards to Tim Kawakami, Ann Killion and Lowell Cohn. They really don't know s**t about football or who's who in the NFL. Baalke has done a good job so far(based on the draft;FA acquisitions).

Every media pundit wanted to crush the Yorks but in the end they were right and they got their guy. Now Jim has to prove it on the field.

Yep. He just got the annual award and it's only January.
