Yeah that's not encouraging. The AFC North and the NFC East. Wow looks like another 7-9 team will win the shootout in the WEST. F***ing pathetic! I can't believe we couldn't win this sorry division.

Not that hard. In 2011 We play 6 games in the NFC west plus next year we play the NFC east 4 games plus the AFC North 4 games leaving the last 2 games with the 3rd place teams in the NFC south and North since we finished 3rd thats who we play.
In 2012 6 games against NFC west 4 Games against NFC North 4 games against either AFC south or east plus two game against the same place finishers in the NFC East and South. Plus maybe a couple of more for an 18 game schedule.

I'm so freaking glad we don't have to play at GB again.

Screw that...we need to pay Tampa in Tampa. I'm moving to Tampa in a week and I wanna see the niners play in person.

Buccaneers are going to be even better and Detroit is looking to be more competitive. Those two games are going to be tough.

its not random. it rotates.
you play 6 games against your division opponents, 4 games against each team of a AFC division, 4 games against each team of a NFC division (both of which rotate in order from division to division each year), and 2 games against the 2 remaining NFC division teams that finished the same place as you the previous year. we finished 3rd, so we face the Lions and Bucs i believe.
i dont know how they choose WHERE teams play those games, because we always have to go to Green Bay every time we play them.
so i can actually tell you our schedule for 2012 except for 2 of the games.
2011 is posted, but 2012 will be:
AZ twice, STL twice, SEA twice, MIN, CHI, GB, DET, NE, NYJ, BUF, MIA, and then the same place finisher in the NFC East and NFC South.

I think with a competent coaching staff and QB, this will be our 2011 season:
Division: 5-1. beat Washington, TB, and Detroit. Win against Cleveland and Cincy.
Finish 10-6.

Thanks for that. As per the bolded part - I agree - we've played GB what 3 time in their house in the past 4 years? We got smashed by them in '06 at home, but other than that it's always in GB.

The "schedule makers" have absolutely NOTHING to do with who we play, only when we play them.

OMFG! I have to go the Detroit game next year. It'll be my first Niners game ever. I hate living in Michigan lol.

only hope is the following. Half the season canceled next year and only division games on the schedule otherwise we are toast as we always are. Of course the eternal optimists will come out of their closet and profess this team as a super bowl contender in 2011. PATHETIC>
