I wonder what, if anything, that says about Iupati?

That he's a rookie who has to still reach his full potential?

Baas did a GREAT job stepping in at center. He deserves it.

when a guy who was out the last month is your MVP you know you're in trouble.

He may have been over the final 1/3 of the year but made a lot of mistakes early. Baas was the best of a weak field.

And the award for the biggest disappointment goes to: the entire 49ers football operation!
Yay.

The 49ers handed out their team awards today. The winners:
Len Eshmont Award given to the team's most inspirational player:
Takeo Spikes
Bill Walsh Award given to the team MVP:
Frank Gore
Bobb McKittrick Award given to the team's top offensive lineman:
David Baas
Matt Hazeltine Iron Man Award given to the defensive MVP:
Justin Smith
Thomas Herrion Award given to the team's most inspirational rookie:
Anthony Dixon and Will Tukuafu
Agree with Spikes, not sure about Gore (although maybe he was the best on a pretty sorry team), nice overachievement by Baas after Heitmann's injury. Smith definitely deserves Iron Man, and Dixon's sharing of the Herrion award shows what a little personality will do.
Who else would get team MVP if not Gore? Vernon is the only other option, in my opinion.

Agreed.
But Baas did well considering the switch.
