alex has produced six years of torture for 49er fans with his clumsy, panicky play at the qb position. however it sounds like most of you are ready for six more years with alex at the helm. what is going on in your heads must be some sort of blind faith in my opinion. the verdict on alex is in yet alex can do no wrong in the eyes of you guys.

It's ok bro I know where you are coming from. Trust me, I became convinced years ago that Alex is not the savior. The vast majority of the WZ can't wait to move on from Alex, IMO. Most have already done so and don't post about him anymore. Those who support him vigorously are a very vocal minority, which is probably why you are noticing them so much. We may differ in opinion but are all 49er fans so it's all good.

David Carr was the #2 So is it racist to have jumped over him to T. Smith? I mean seriously he only got to play like 2 quarters? That racism sword is double edged.

The fact is Carr and T Smith suck worse than Alex...no matter how much you hate him. Playing in the same game Alex looked much better than Troy. Was he good enough? No...but we're not talking about that.

I wouldn't get too worked up about this because the clock is ticking and Jed York himself expressed his desire for a NEW QB. So it's just a matter of time now before he's gone.

Let them have their last minutes of pissin and moaning because it's all for naught. Hopefully his die hard supporters will follow him to where they think he'll become the next HOF. Good Luck on that!

troy smith provided the only excitement for me this year as a 49er fan. I'd be happy to start the season next year with troy as the starting qb. alex needs to go. i wouldn't even want alex as a backup out of fear he'll find his way back into starting rotation if someone gets hurt next year. im also happy that the alex lovers will soon vanish from the 49er nation.

oh yeah that is true. but i actually think that was a bad snap. that was the most frustrating part of yesterday's game to me. we couldn't even properly snap the ball in the first quarter which killed 2 of our drives in the first.

the starting center that got hurt made a terrible snap on our first drive that we are lucky troy was able to scoop up and prevent the turnover. then the backup center comes in and from what i can see he snapped the ball way too hard when troy was in the endzone. i mean he's like 1 foot from the target of his snap and he rocketed back the snap to troy.

if alex had received those 2 bad snaps they would have turned into two lost fumbles that went back for six. troy saved those plays from being worse imo. alex just panicks under any stress and has a knack for giving up possesion of the ball.

A bad snap that hit Troy right in the chest but it was snapped too hard!!!

Oh the humility of being "Rocket Snapped"...

This whole team sucked because our entire coaching staff sucks so it didn't matter who they played at QB, but our best chance to win this game was with Alex...

With parity in todays NFL, all teams have talent. The difference between the winning teams and the losing teams is the coaching...

If you want proof, just look at what the chiefs have done this year with alot less talent than what is on the 49ers...

Only about four QBs in the league can.

In every area, the offense this year was bad...from HC to OC to OL to WR to even TE on many occasions. The only bright spot was Gore and his lack of production in many situations only showed how important the OL is to offensive success.

You aren't going to be around here much longer. Stop attacking your fellow posters. You have a right to your opinion but they have a right to theirs. You need to start presenting your views in a cogent fashion rather than an aggressive one.

Regarding the accusation of racism you are utterly out of line here. And lucky not to be thrown out. What makes you think you know enough about posters in this place to make that sort of judgement?

Taking the sack was bad...the fumble was more on the OL. That said, no he didn't play great...and I don't think we're saying he did. He made a number of mental miscues. Even with that, he played MUCH better than Troy.

Troy was terrible yesterday, Singletary's handling of Qb's is plain terrible. Hence a major reason (among many) why he was canned, cant just rotate QB's all the time.

You do realize that other coaches like Alex Smith, Norv Turner for one thinks he is a good qb. I wish Norv stayed as our OC, things would be much different.

I bet that when Norv gets fired, he'll probably be an OC somewhere and he'll bring in Alex Smith as a backup.
