Yeah, absolutely.” Finally, York capped the give-and-take with the media by saying he would hire a general manager in the offseason. The GM post has been unoccupied since Scot McLoughan was fired in March. York initially told reporters that he would conduct a search for a GM. The NFL Network’s Jason LaCanfora later reported that York would also be considering director of player personnel Trent Baalke, who was in charge of a draft that received high marks in April. I'm with you, I'm excited, but worried that we'll only see more of the same.

That was York Sr. making the decisions. I have faith in Jed, I believe he has the pulse of the fans and has a better grasp of what's going on with this team.

That was York Sr. making the decisions. I have faith in Jed, I believe he has the pulse of the fans and has a better grasp of what's going on with this team.

His name is still York. And as much as I want to believe in him, he did stick with Sing THIS long........... Sing should have been fired after that loss to Carolina.

Maybe he should have fired Sing earlier, but really what kind of option does he have as an interim HC? Tomsula? Manusky? It was a damn if you do and damned if he didn't situation, he just needed to allow the season to play out and see what happens.

The way Jed vastly swooped in and made all these announcements leads me to think he's had this day planned since after the Carolina loss (when we hit 1-6 mark on our record).

Mortinsen, and Eddie D both heard on the inside that we had already began researching options (with huge changes on the horizon) before the offseason. -So that leads me to believe Jed has done his already done his research, and is going to possibly get this GM hire 'right'.
