He is still on the team, just on the practice squad.
He means that Sing is no longer on the team. He was the reason he was on PS.
I meant that Nate is the reason Nate is on the practice squad.
Uh no. For some reason, Sing didn't like Davis. He just always seemed to have some problem with him that we as fans do not the specifics to. He publicly questioned his work ethic.
Hi there Mr. Conspiracy Theory, here's some news for you....
1) There was no one on the grassy knoll...
2) G.W. Bush didn't plan 9/11...
3) Nate Davis is on the practice squad because he put himself there.
That is all.

All we know is this:
1. Davis has the strongest arm.
2. He is the most accurate.
3. He has the best pocket presence.
4. He sees words backwards, so he has to learn in different ways. I worked with a dyslexic person and there are reasons to believe that Davis actually sees the field better than "normal" people, has more of a 3D view of things.
5. Singelcell wanted no competition for A.Smith and he put Davis as far away from him as he could. That is suspicious.
6. No other team picked him up. This is damning.
7. Singlecell said he didn't know the playbook and didn't study hard. Davis said he did. Who do you believe?
8. The A.Smith fans are especially hard on Davis. Why would they be so mean to the kid, calling him stupid and all that? The answer can only lie in that they think he was the only competition.
So, nobody knows and that is the problem. Singlecell was kept on far too long and so there have been no evaluations other than his.
It would be unfair to Davis to start him when he has had no reps, etc. At this point it would be best to have him come back under a rational coaching system, go through the training a pre-season process and see what is up with him. Clearly, if the team was to draft Luck or someone, then for sure the rookie will start and Davis would be a backup, maybe even number two on the depth chart. This would sure be a far better situation that what is there now!

7a. Singletary loved another QB that didn't know the playbook but was shorter than Nate.

New GM is gonna need some tape on him against starters since he is the only unknown QB on the roster so its perfect time to start him. We got a high draft pick coming with Luck, Locker, Newton, Mallet possible picks and veteran talent like Kolb, Orton, McNabb, & Vick possible via trade/FA. Not really sold on anybody but Kobb being anything other than a stop gap QB to come in and win games but all mentioned are upgrades of Smith/Smith/Carr
