I have a strange feeling after I watched Greenbay's backup QB, and the Viking's backup QB last night. That feeling catapulted me to the future... this time... next year... when I can't stop thinking what could have been. As the 49ers try to make it to the playoffs, I can't help but feel like as if the team just keep wasting big opportunities now, for the sake of bigger and better things in the future. If you stop for a moment and think what's a better path, playoffs or opportunity to land a future QB from the draft? What is more important to the team six months from now? It's so easy to see that only less than half of the thirty two teams really have a legitimate starting QB, and here they are, the 49ers are about to give up on that opportunity... a once a year chance of getting the QB that will be able to turn things around in a hurry! Oh, how I could just feel the regrets now that you and I will be feeling today, a year from now.

What exactly makes you believe the top college Qb's will be good in the NFL?, or on the other hand, What makes you believe you can't find a Qb of the future after round 1.

Besides, this organization has done some really bad drafting in recent years.

I understand your frustration but how can you seriously say Alex sucks after all he's been through!!! 7 OC's in the past 5 years, an O-line that finally seems to be meshing but are still getting beat, come on man, get a clue. I'd like to see Rodgers or the all of a sudden great Bradford seem like a competent QB when he's rushed to throw the ball! And now everyone in the forum keeps saying "no playoffs, it's embarrassing" F that BS, if you're a true fan you'd want your team to make the playoffs no matter what!! What kind of BS talk is that? Seriously! Go cheer for the Lambs, Tards or even the Seachickens if you want the Niners to fail so bad!

Those are the Non 1st round Franchise QBs. The rest are bums. That's 2 in the last decade. You wanna hope we luck out with one of those?

All the more reason to go after a savvy vet like McNabb. Someone to fill the void until we can find the right guy to take over the reigns.............

Yes but they should do both. Get a McNabb or Orton to run the show almost a season while a rookie has a clipboard.

Locker is hot garbage and is made of glass, newton will be gone but i think he might stay in college... the other guy didnt make enough noise for me to recognize..

I don't see an adequate QB unless Luck,Newton declare themselves in the draft and then it still would be a long shot to get them even if we don't make the playoffs

Mallet aside from Luck IMO is the best prospect. Don't see how you've never heard of him lol. Locker is on a hot garbage team. His WRs drop everything, his line doesn't protect. Watch the Senior Bowl. If he goes in it, he'll shine. Your problem is the Niners have made you afraid of 1st round QBs. Understandably of course. But there is a reason these guys go first.

Patrick Willis, Vernon Davis, Frank Gore, Michael Crabtree, Joe Staley, Mike Iupati, Delanie Walker, Josh Morgan, Anthony Dixon...etc, etc....

Yup...really bad drafting.

Really lol. Where do these people keep getting this stuff from lol? And everybody is crying bust on Davis, jesus give the guy a season. With the improvements he's made since the beginning of the year, he looks like he's gonna pan out. He'll be Kwame when he does the bad stuff 6 years into his career.
