How are you currently feeling about...

On a positive note, I would love to go to a playoff game!

On the bad note, we would likely get blown out, have to play 2 tougher teams next year (i.e. Atlanta and Chicago?), and dramatically decrease our draft position (would go from 8-9 to 21 at best!)...

Either way, it is still exciting and the home game will be lots of fun if there is still playoff implications!

Sing and his coaches piss the sh*t outta me, but I have to admit that I've kinda been enjoying the human comedy that is our team. It's hard to do anything but laugh when the people in charge of the team are this stupid.

If we get in the playoffs, I'm going to be absolutely intolerable to the people around me. I've taken sooooo much crap from family/friends and people at work about my team.....I'm gonna get drunk and do the dougie like Drew Stanton if we actually win a PO game.

We're the best team, run into the ground by the most scandalously unqualified and uncaring management, coached by the stupidest, most chickensh*t staff ever assembled, and in all likelihood we're gonna win the goofiest, most inept division in pro sports history... outside of the CFL. Say what you will, but these guys will live on forever in our hearts and minds if we get into the playoffs lol!

We will win the division and make the playoffs and then get on a roll and win the superbowl. Alex will throw 4 touchdowns, 400 yards and ZERO interceptions to keep our streak alive!!!

Don't you think a classy, talented player like that deserves one game?

Wouldn't it be nice to at least get the younger players to know what it's like in a playoff atmosphere so they're not as nervous in the future? Or better yet so that the team as a whole drops that losing mentality that's choked them for the past eight years?

I want drastic, widespread change this offseason just like everyone does. As long as that still happens with a playoff appearance, all is well.

But I'm a fan and fans want their team in the postseason.

IMO, you can look at trying times with the attitude of a little whiney b***h; crying, moaning and complaining...or you can sack-up and see your adversity as an opportunity. I'm hoping our ownership will see the last decade as proof that things need to change drastically, and that this most recent failure is an opportunity to build something great, as oppposed to doing the same old tired thing.

IMO, Sing's failure opens up the opportunity for this franchise to hire a REAL football person to run the entire show...someone who knows the game, has won elsewhere and understands what an organization needs in order to get there. We need to blow this thing up, get rid of a lot of the players from the Nolan/Singletary era (save a handful of the youngsters) and begin to carve out a new identity as a franchise. A franchise with new players, coaches, schemes and philosophies that revolutionize the game of football, set new standards of excellence in the NFL and usher in the new stadium with not only a new building, but a new dynasty.

To do this, we can't just reload...we need to rebuild. Blow the current mess up, get rid of as many players as possible and bring in fresh blood across the board.

1.) Bring in the best football guy you can find to run the operation
2.) Have him hire the right head coach; a football savant, visionary and leader
3.) Bring in the right QB, one with talent, balls and leadership skills
4.) Over the next few years, start adding talent...rookies/vets who buy in to what the new coach is selling
5.) Spare no expense to sign KEY free agents; not just hired guns or talented-but-selfish athletes....bring in winners who can show the youngsters what it takes and the price one has to pay (year-round) to get to the promised land

This will likely be a 3-4 year project, with the first year being a disaster. The fans will cry and moan, the press will question every step that's taken/every move that's made and the league will continue to laugh at this once proud franchise. Then, the 2nd year will show some improvement; a slight uptick in the product will be seen, but still not enough to convince the doubters/skeptics/band-waggoners.

It's in year's 3+ where you'll start seeing the hard work, the changes, the new schemes/philosophies and the new talent all finally starting to pay off.

If this all sounds familiar, it should because we did it once before.

Agree completely on this.

I've always said you can't convince me that a team can't be turned around in three years. Bill Walsh did it. Jimmy Johnson did it. Heck, even Mike Smith has done it. It's all about bringing in the right people.
