The 49ers have used two tight-end personnel 72% of all offensive plays.
Considering the team doesn't have a back-up fullback, a third tight-end is essential.

This might be one reason we suck on offense. 72% and used in all the wrong ways.

Plus, this has implications for next season. LaBoy might now be considered too injury prone and unreliable. Joe Nedney may be forced to retire.

Too bad for LaBoy. IIRC, he's on a 1-year contract. I think he isn't too bad for a 3rd down pass rusher.
