Fans are between the proverbial rock and a hard place on this one. The playoffs are a chimera of false hope and success. It'll serve to paint over the turd that is that is Singletary's coaching tenure.

I just hope that Jed has seen enough to see through it.

Many board members have been very critical of my desire for the team to lose out. However, watching this segment, it reminds me that there will be a big call, and much sympathy, by many for the Niners to retain Singletary.

The uglier the loss, the deeper the humiliation, the more ownership would HAVE to make a change. THat is why I cheer weekly for horrific losses.

This segment was so ridiculous. One of the guys even said that Singletary was doing a "great job". All made excuses for him. Painful to watch.

Its like supporting the blind kid who graduated high school.

No one is going to say "the blind kid only had a 2.0 GPA."

They are going to be impressed that he graduated.

I'll always support Singletary. Love the guy. He obviously needs some adjustment but his passion for the game..and passion for this team is amazing.

Those guys are not gonna be very critical of SIng because he is an ex-player. Players always look out for each other.

Plus they know he's not too bright. They don't want to insult the man because they respect him as a HOF player and a motivational speaker.
They never come out and bash coaches. Funny that the actual game broadcasters spend half the time wondering about the play calls, the time outs, the coaching in general. They clearly have a problem with his style and calls.

And they aren't exactly going to put Sing on blast on the pre-game show. Usually the announcers do their best to hype up the game during the pre-game shows, during prime-time games especially
They were all wrong

Jed's in trouble. That crew was very convincing in favor of Sing.....

Mooch went down the list of great OCs that couldn't do anything here (Martz, Turner, McCarthy). That was convincing.

I thought they all had a decent amount of success when they came here. Sure, they didn't make a top 15 offense, but they each improved upon the previous year. Again, it was a continuity thing.

The reason why a lot of us want Singletary gone is because we want an offensive-minded head coach to come in. Having a Gruden or a Harbaugh would most likely secure an offensive system here for the duration of that coach's tenure.

Sounds like some here and the excuses for Alexis Smith! Singletary I love as a man and person and his coaching skills are questionable of course but he is not even in his 3rd year and you guys want him fired? I believe he will be back! Not alex though!
I think it's worth pointing out that these guys work for the NFL Network. Do you really think they're going to use the NFL's dime to slam a NFL coach?

technically, he doesn't even have 2 1/2 (season) under his belt.

i'm on the fence with people calling for his head. whether he stays or goes, i won't be disappointed.
commentators are nothing but league salesmen, their job is to market football.

that's like saying Glenn Beck thinks Fox News is a good network.

I don't think that the numbers support you on this. I think that Sing actually has a winning record outside of Smith starting; while Smith has had his best numbers under Sing.

Exactly. Also, there are very few commentators who are honest and speak their minds.
