Didn't you know you can't be honest on the WZ?
Alex Smith is gonna be great. Once we get rid of these useless players like Vernon, Crabs, Gore, D-Love, and Morgan. Also, just wait til we get rid of every linemen and use a whole draft just to protect him.

The 49ers failed AS with what has to be the worst coaching jobs ever by an organization. We need to get Alex a better QB coach and a good O-line coach to protect him! we MUST protect this house!
don't ask me where that came from! lol

The answer is both. The 49ers failed to properly develop him and coach him. But the reality is he probably should not have been the #1 overall pick.

I didn't see anything wrong with that either, except the part that said he has started 40 games and only has 16 wins. Let's not try and sway some voters here, more like 49 games started and only 18 wins
Serious note, like it says in there, the argument can go either way and you must be able to see both sides of the story here. He has been in a horrible situation with the coaches he has had (aside from Turner and now MJ) but even so, he still has not proved to be able to win a meaningful game or better yet, just a game vs a good opponent outside our division ::crosses fingers and hopes that changes on Thursday::
Alex is improving and hopefully it is not too late for both involved (Alex and 49ers)

I was kinda sarcastic and dlckheadish lol. Let me actually contribute to this thread. Yeah, we failed Alex HALF the time. Eventually we got the talent he needed but he still hasn't stepped it up. The problem is we Carred him. We let him get sacked so many times, he feels pressure when it's not there. He used to have to run for his life right after the snap, so he never got the field vision that good QBs have. He never hits a WR before the get open, he needs to see them open before he throws it. Which is why, he runs or throws it out of bounds all day. And why you see the ball always thrown behind the WR.
To this day, I think David Carr and Alex could've been at least average QBs. Had the franchises had decent O-lines in the beginning. Please keep in mind I want him gone ASAP though.[/right]

Might as well make a thread about it.
