Singletary on KNBR (12/14) waste of time

Since when is a head coach's job to entertain you? Were you riveted by Dennis Erickson's radio interviews? Do you miss Mariucci's butt smooching of the media? Good god, his job is to coach the players, not give you life lessons every Tuesday.

Anything outside of game coverage on KNBR is a waste of time.

Personally, I'm a Niner fan, not a KNBR fan.

I'll never cheer for any of the talk know-it-alls before I cheer for the HC of the Niners, even if they're 0-16 or 2-14 or whatever. Murph and Mac are classic -- rip teams that are down, suck up to them when they're winning. Zzzzz...

I listened to the whole interview like most weeks and they've been going down hill for a few weeks now. If Singletary didn't want to talk to the guys he should have found a way to gracefully tell the station that he couldn't do the weekly interview because of the game that was 3 days away. I felt bad for Mike more than Murph because Murph didn't ask him any tough questions and Mike came across as an A hole. When Mike had the interview blow up with Dennis O'Donnel earlier in the year it started his little battle with the local media and being the person that he is, I was hoping for him to rise above it. The media in general have probably treated Singletary very differently after that, but could you image how bad it could be if Singletary coached a team like the Jets or Giants with their media?

It could be that Mike is a lame duck coach and knows that his days are numbered and he's just going through the motions.

You guys make no sense, he did the damn interview and answered their questions. Him or no other coach has no obligation to laugh and joke and be enthralled during any type of interview. While he could have opted out of the interview, I'm sure he had some type of obligation to do it and wanted to keep his word. It could have been a contractual obligation for all we know. To be honest I would prefer my coach have the Bill Bellichek mentality and only do the NFL mandated post game media stuff and leave it at that.
