We have the same helmets, but the 49er tradition left with Eddie D & Bill Walsh!

actually we are getting back to our roots. The 49ers were a pathetic franchise before Eddie and Bill. 100 years from now, 1980-2000 will still be the high watermark of the 49ers

I believe everything we are walked out the door with Eddie D, and sure Walsh was able to hold it together for a few years after but once Walsh left we were like an expansion team.
We need to go back to our roots! We have enough film and WCO instruction tapes of BW installing his system to take us right back to our Glorydayz! We just need to tap into the past (coaches) and put it all together!
I agree with your sentiment. I like what Steve has been saying also. I despise this quasi 80s bears pish that we are subjected too.
Yes we are highlighting a small period as our basis of tradition but I also believe that most great teams were bad before. The problem for us us that we took all those mechanics of greatness and threw them all away.

I like the tradition of winning that EDJ & BW created much more than our roots
