This is the 49ers we are talking about...
If they win a few games they will talk about new found hope and change and a brighter future. The Yorks don't want the dead salary of Dingleberry + a new coach. They will look for a way out of it if they can. Many WZers are not realistic about this.
Very depressing scenario SD, very.. but with this "ownership", entirely possible. Well heck, that will give me more sleep time, because then I will set my alarm, rise from sleep, login to a stream, look at the score, see the same play calls and resultant scores.
Then I go back to sleep because there is no use to watch what I know will happen. Then I will wake up at a normal time, read all the excuses, blame, and what the team will do to right the good ship 49ers, and go surfing..
Pretty soon the Niners I remember and have loved for so many years will start to fade from memory for real, and it will become easier and easier to put Game Day on the back-burner till I notice in the news that ownership has changed and with it some kind of renewal of the focus the team had when it was feared throughout the NFL for more than a decade.
Or......even, competitive in a good way..
Sad days for the Niners if you know what was....[/u]

Yes considered, but his replacement in this years draft should be consider then as well. we should then trade up for which every qb we want and sit him behind alex until he's ready to step into the fire. I like alex to stay only for the fact we could groom a qb behind him and actually do it right this time around....

The production has not been there. IMO if he does something and we win it's a good thing. If he should lose it's not something we haven't seen before.

Let's have some justification for the dead salary comment, SD. History seems to indicate that you are dead wrong

Yup this is all true, but it's not about being cheap. It's about wasting money when you have a Stadium to fund. People just don't get it. Banks don't hand out loans without seeing the books. If they see wasteful spending they're not going to hand out any money. So if the Yorks put up a reasonable amount and they find investors and still come up short because Valley Fair(is it?) will only sell outright and not lease the intended plot, then they have to get the money from someplace. I don't see Davis rushing to the rescue. In fact now that Lang is gone, I don't see the Raiders in the 9ers development future. So the League is only going to cough up a small percentage. So that leaves us with Sing as HC as long as we're still looking for funding.
Sad, but it's a cold hard reality that not many are willing to face.

Which history is this? Eddie's history or Jed's? Until he does something in this regard consistently Jed has ZERO history.

Ummm didn't he do that in '06? Spoiled the Broncos Playoff chances that season too?

Don't forget now a lot of those Losses are also squarely on the shoulders of the Defense. In fact 4 of Alex's 6 Losses were because the Defense couldn't keep the Opponent from crossing the 50.
The KC game the Defense HEMORRHAGED points. So badly that there was no way for Alex to keep up with that.
AND let's not forget that Sing's proclivity to keep games "close" is killing us. We score early then it's all about protecting the lead, which we don't, and then it's all about catch up. NO QB can thrive in that environment.

He has to turn in strong performances in the last 4 games. The best 4 game stretch of his career as a 49er.
His performance had to be elite NFL QB strong, not just -slightly better than his past uneven mediocre performances - strong.
He has to average something like 275 yards, 2-3 TDs, passer rating above 100, and 3rd down conversions above 60% in these last 4 games.
He has to be the main reason that we win the last 4 games.
He has to be the guy that bails out some other player on the team who commits an idiot mental mistake, or drops a pass, or fumbles away an INT.
Unrealistic ? Yes.
Unfair? No.
