It's not that hard to believe that Sing gets one more year to right the ship.

A) He's in year 2 of a 5 year deal.

B) The impending lockout basically kills any chance of getting a solid replacement.

C) Three teams are GOING to be looking for their replacements after the Broncos fired their HC.

Put all this together and I just made a better argument than Yard Barker did.

Now we can fix this with a solid OC hiring and giving him 100% authority on play calling. We could pick up Minnesota's cast off HC. He knows Offense has a good core group of players to work with, even if we kept Alex on this team(Lockout will freeze FA signings to all but the most sought after players) I think that he would be the best choice. It would be like getting Billick from back during his Minnesota OC days.

But no way in hell we freeze our hiring firing process for a specific HC. That makes NO sense. We would for the reasons stated above, but not because we're so enthralled that we'd hold off to meet the life demands of a candidate. Either replace him or do not replace him but do not make that mistake. That would be stupid.

Did you just suggest to bring in brad childmolester... Alex can't run iform so unless your plan is to get about 6 yards passing and loss by 30 then please lets.

so we take a qb make him learn west coast his first year. we take that same qb make him learn digit, take that same qb make him work with a oc that wants to run west coast/ digit and shouldn't have been doing it, to a oc that runs whatever the hell mike martz run's which is draw a play in the sand were everyone goes deep, to a oc that runs digit keep him for 3 games into next season so you can say your qb has some continuity for once, to a oc that had work in spread to a oc that is west coast next year after that we will get away from the west coast because well alex can't run that but he can run a digit.

Why can't we just go west coast dump alex get a qb who can run the west coast and throw and read the d why dropping back in iform.

Besides it was randy moss and chris carter, give me aj green or blackmon from osu and may just maybe we can't make a amazing offense.

Huh? No offense digger, but are you from the P.I. per chance?

I kinda get the gist of what you're saying but Childress can work with Smith. Alex has seen everything that guy can install and Childress has the imagination and experience to run the Spread. Given that he's the best on the open market right now(barring any new firings or hats thrown into the ring) he's a solid option.

Sure we could use McDaniels too but I'm not too keen on picking up a guy that lived through Spygate and then chose to reenact it when he became a HC. I think that was why Nolan moved on, cause there was no sense to him going to Miami in a lateral move. Anyway, I think that we need a Coordinator that can work with whatever he's given. Childress's only downfall was sticking with Favre and not making the QB change that everyone wanted. They were all drooling over Favre last year but this year they weren't happy with him. Nevermind that the rest of the offense was messed up and on the IR. Moss acted like a douche, as per usual.

Dude, please god no more Sing. I want Gruden, but I don't care if he wont coach till 2012. We need to rid ourselves of Sing. Sing is killing this franchise and he needs to be fired. We can always get a Morninwheg or Kubiak or try for a guy like Holmgren or someone else. ANYONE but Sing, he is slowly killing this franchise.
Mc Daniels the next HC to be fired during the season. What is that, 3 now? All the coaches fired have a better record than our HC, if "better" is what you would call it.

Why oh why does our "organization" not have the nads to move on now. Frie the HC, put anyone else in as temp HC so.. they can set the table for all the talent that is and will be out there for hire, to get a head start, to show potential hires the Niners really do want to win and are willing to start a process now, rather than later.

Once again they will start late it looks like, while the Cowboys and Broncos among others are setting themselves up to look into what is out there and cut deals ahead of time.

And what do we talk about; Sing for all of 2011 so we CAN WAIT for Gruden!! WTF!! This, even if it's mere speculation is pure insanity.. Christ almighty!!

Oh yes, right, Sing is going to become a.. "good" HC, rather than the one we have seen to this point. Right, he is going to learn how to call plays. Right, A Smith is going to suddenly turn into the QB we were hoping for 6 years ago..

This just gets more pathetic day by day..

didn't this yardbarker guy used to be the host of the price is right?
This is the same situation they had with Norv Turner when they hired him as OC. He said this is great my son is going to school here in the bay area and I will stay here. And what happened next? He was gone to the chargers in a heart beat.

A) Jed wants to build his stadium and needs a winner now. Loose a couple million compared to the long term financial stability of a new stadium?

B) Every day its looking more doubtful the lockout will happen (at least according to ESPN).

C) This is probably the best free agent class of Head Coaches ever. So there are plenty to choose from. Not to mention the HC's fired this season are great coordinators. This team already has the talent on the field (except QB), can you imagine how quickly this team could turn around with some good coaches?

Agreed. It has been rumored that Gruden is interested in the 49ers, Broncos, Browns and Cowboys. I doubt the Cowboys will go after him with J. Garrette already in place. There will be a lot of openings in the league for the niners to sit back and wait for another year and hope Gruden decides to come to them.

But another season under mike and his 1800's style get in a line and were just going to shoot each other until one side doesn't have anyone left is done. This man is playing checkers why the rest of the league is playing chess!

At least under nolan and his suit we looked good on the sideline. im sick of watching this clapping fool and his got to watch the film. I'm sorry where have you been the last 3 hours cause i just watched that game and tell you what you should have done. hell i could have told you at half time o wait that's an adjustment and we don't do that!
.....

I personally dont want Gruden...... Only one good year in Tampa, did any of you you check his track record after that.... Almost the same flip-flop QB senario we have now... All that TV tough talk got you guys going! Gruden may be better than Sing but he's still a JOKEA TV personality that some of you are enamoured with, like Madden...... LIke I said Years ago, we need some one new, fresh not the same ole recycled NFL bulls**t... Look at TB, PITT, NO, KC, JETS, MIA even STL New young coaches new ideas, new energy. Also look at teams who hired old coaches Wash, Dall,SD.... Of coarse you have BUFF, and Den that failed but hiring one of those guys is moving backwards.... Wont bring anything to the league that havent been done to death...Maybe some stability to the team but if thats all you want you are thinking short term....

Look at what he had to work with in Tampa. An aging D and subpar offensive talent all across the board. That's not a recipe for success.

And yet he managed a Superbowl, an 11-5 season and two 9-7 seasons in 7 years.

Regardless of our W-L record I think we have a good infrastructure with young players on both sides of the ball and a well-managed cap to be able to bring in pieces and replace players as needed instead of having to worry about a whole defense aging on you over night.

If Jed makes Gruden an offer he can't refuse, he'll jump back into it. Money talks and so does the itch to get back to the NFL once you've had a good taste of it. He can work around the family issues...
The fan base would not tolerate another year of Singletary.

Sing is gone by season's end. I remember a few weeks reading an article by Jason Cole on yahoo that Sing would most likely be fired even if he got the team to the playoffs.

Niner brass is not happy with Sing......they've already shown it by forcing him to fire Raye. He's gone.......
