He is the olb that we wanted to start instead of ph. The injury derailed him but it obvious he is better in every way...for those of you that wanted consistency....well think if he is the starter he will be more consistent because he will get more playing time to make more plays...here is your new olb. Make the change and let ph rotate in with laboy

Ahmed Brooks finally got his first start thanks to Harolson being injured. I was pretty impressed with his performance. I'm pretty excited about what Brooks brings to our LB corps.

The man consistently jumps offsides at critical points in games, and then he stops as if the play is going to be blown dead, but it isn't. That's the OLB equivalent to Alex Smith playing most of the game effectively and then fumbling for no reason (ahem, Eagles game). He's still riding the 3-sack performance against the Cardinals in 2009.

You say that he is riding the 3 sack performance from 2009. Did you miss the fact that he had 2 sacks against the Packers? The jumping offsides thing is a coaching issue not a player issue.

He jumps offsides way too often.
definitely needs to play smarter

Yes, he had 2 sacks, but I don't like the rest of his game.
When he jumps offside, he quits from the play. Just watch him. He stands tall, waiting for the play to finish. Rodgers, with Brooks just watching what was going on, threw the ball downfield for a TD...

Brooks is... okay. Nothing special, and would be more effective in a 3 point stance. The problem is and continues to be that opposing QBs know they can hit their first or 2nd read in 3 seconds or less. Why? Manusky's sissy-soft CB cushions. Opposing QBs that can get the ball out quickly essentially neutralize a team's pass rush. That, and we don't get much pressure up the middle, unless we occasionally send ILBs.
