Why does it have to be Alex vs Troy?

1. I think it's clear neither is our franchise signal caller of the future. 2. Neither has all the attributes we need, but each has his own unique strengths: Alex plays great in the 2 minute, has a good grasp of the playbook, and plays lights out in the redzone, but lacks big play ability. Troy has true big play ability, actually throws the ball in the field of play when on a bootleg, and has good mobility, but his drives have been stalling, accuracy in small windows is pretty bad, and doesn't have as firm of a grasp on the playbook. 3. "Woodstrock" worked for the Dolphins, albeit awhile ago. Johnson/Freeman, Vick/McNabb, etc worked to small degree recently. 4. More difficult for Ds to plan for. The starting O has worked with both, and the receivers appear comfortable with both. The team is able to be more creative with plays (not saying this coaching staff can). Troy has probably been the most logical fit for the Raye-Gun plays (but then again so was M-Rob last year). "Insanity is repeating the same action and expecting a different result." We know what the Smiths bring separately. It's time for the team to try something else until we get a true signal caller.

actually it does matter. It's pretty hard to be labeled a bust when you're selected in the 5th round. Usually it is considered a miracle if you actually turn out decent after being selected in the 5th round. And yes they both suck, Troy just suck a lot more than Alex.

Alex is better pocket passer did anyone watch bucs game 21-0 is all I need to see from troy smith his last 3 starts his qb rating is below 50. We must use our playmakers especially VD he lead nfl in tds and made probowl last year with Alex throwing him the ball on deep seam routes we need more of that to win last 4 games and make playoffs
