He is right, most good teams have a set legacy. Fans will stick with a guy that wins with that legacy. Otherwise fans will always reference the old days and how our style was much better.

The 49er Organization has always had a Tradition, a Legacy, and a History of Winning. And Steve Young knows this, and it hurts him to his core to see this former Dynasty being ran into the ground by the incompetence of the Yorks.
I believe Steve Young also has more to say about how the 9ers are ran now, by as an ESPN analyst he is bound not to....

But also remember folks it was Steve Young, Brent Jones, along with Larry Ellison who wanted to buy the 49ers from the Yorks. So you can't deny that Steve does not care about the welfare of his former team.

Steve Young is right, and he knows great Offensive football. He's not the only one that has said these things, Brent Jones has said very similar things. Sing is out of his element here, and that adds to his challenge along with this lack of intelligence.

I truly wish that the Young/Jones consortium could wrest this team away from the Yorks. i guarantee it would run so much better. Those guys understand the legacy Walsh built!

That's exactly what I got out of this interview. Steve Young, the media and the fans will always remember the good old days when we were all about a good defenses and an awesome offense. Great QBs, greatest receiver of all time, scoring points, etc. Why? Because it worked and the 49ers have the championships to show for it. That's what has made the last 8 years, especially the last couple of seasons with Singletary so painfull to watch for everyone. Knowing what the 49ers were all about and having Singletary tell us that being a physical running team like his 85 Bears is the way to go. When week after week, another team (except the Cardinals) proves him wrong.

Both of those guys are extremely intelligent and know what they are talking about. They know business and they know football. I would love for them to be the owners of the 49ers. Thanks for reminding me of how much I hate the Yorks

Sing came in wanting to dismantle the Niner legacy and way of playing. He doesn't understand it or like it at all.

And, of course, the ownership went the same way. They do not understand the passion of the past and in fact dislike it as much as Sing does.

And, as part of their plan to dismantle the past, the Yorks would probably sell to anyone but the Young group in order to complete their evil agenda.

or maybe, unlike the fans, he knows he's not qualified to speak on that since he has yet to go to the facility to actually see what's going on. Just a thought.

I love Steve, but his takes are always so long winded. It's a little much sometimes. I first noticed during the draft 2 years ago. He just continually talked over everyone and never gave anyone else on the panel even a second to speak.

It would work if they actully smashed someone in the mouth on a consistent basis. But they have totally failed at that too.
