How do playoff ticket sales work?

I've been a season ticket holder since 2004. Obviously we have not made the playoffs since then so I'm not sure how the playoff ticketing works. Let's say by some miracle scenario, we sneak into the playoffs with a 7-9 record by beating AZ in the last game of the season. I would imagine we would be playing at home the following Saturday or Sunday. So would the 49ers send me a bill for playoff tickets during that week? Seems like a short amount of time to sell 50,000+ tickets. Or do they send out the bill for playoff tickets if the playoffs are a possibility going into the last game or two of the season and if they don't make it, apply that money to next year's tickets. If that's the case, suppose I don't want to renew. Can any longtime season ticket holders who have been to playoff games please let me know how this works. Even though this has been a dismal season, still have slight hope. You never know, we can play well at home and may even win a home playoff game.

haven't experienced 9ers season playoff tix, but teams usually give the notice one to two weeks before.

And if they don't make it, then they forward it to the next season.
