Prime was a niners for all the people b***hing about him the guy got us a lombardi trophy the year he was here so hes got just as many as bryant young. he wont claim us and will probably be inducted by jerry jones but the man did get us a championship and i cant be mad at him. Eddie D should be in before any of those guys tho, the team owes all of its good years to him.

Agree, so what if he's been a niner for 12 games or so. He arguebly had the best season of his professional career here, helped turn a great defense into an even better one, won a Superbowl, and was voted DPOY.

Sanders doesn't count because he was here only one year.
Roger Craig is the most deserving player that is not HOF yet...period. He had the misfortune of playing in the shadow of 2 of the very best players of all time, plus Steve Young. Had that not been the case, he would already be in. He set a new standard for all-round backs.
Ah, but was it because of that shadow that he was able to accomplish what he did?
What are they looking for when they decide who goes in and who doesn't? This has always bothered me.
Part of it is East Coast bias. There are many Steelers from the '70s that are in despite the obvious benefit of playing with other very good players.
Yeah, you're right... I think it's a combination. Craig should be in for sure. It's just a question of when. It doesn't matter the circumstances, you're absolutely right... "He set a new standard for all-round backs." That's worthy of recognition.
It's just tough because there are so many deserving players and more are eligible every year. Craig really showed the NFL that a running back could be more than a battering ram... more than a check down guy, even.
I think another factor is that his statistics overall aren't really impressive... sometime they were just bad. I think it's just a combination of all that stuff.
But hell, if Aikman and Bradshaw are in... Craig sure as s**t should be. Especially Bradshaw. That's just a travesty. At least Aikman was mediocre... still overrated.

I consider Deion Sanders a 49er for life. I don't care that it was only one season. It was one of the most magical seasons in the history of our franchise. Y'know... we had a bunch of magical seasons... so that's saying something.

I think I would feel different if we hadn't won the Super Bowl that year, though. I wouldn't consider Larry Allen a 49er, even though he helped Gore have his best season. Funny how fans have their own weird rules, isn't it?

Yeah, I gotta say this is an even bigger travesty. Tim Brown and Chris Carter not being in the Hall pisses me off.
Especially Chris Carter... probably my own personal bias. I liked watching dude play.
The Hall of Fame is bulls**t! Screw you Hall of Fame!
Now I'm all mad. Hehe... I don't even care, really. It's like the Pro Bowl. If one of our guys gets in... Yay! I didn't need them to tell me they had a great season, though. I guess some guys do deserve some recognition... too bad they rarely give it to the right ones.

Chris Carter, great career, maybe the best hands of all time.

I know he'd go in as a Viking, but Chris Doleman was one of the best defensive linemen the niners have had. Granted BY was getting double teamed a lot, and he and Stubblefield made Roy Barker look good, but Doleman had a great burst of pace, and could always get to the QB. In three seasons with us he got 38 sacks which is almost as many as the entire niners defensive line has got in the past 4 seasons.
150.5 total sacks, 8 interceptions and 44 forced fumbles. Definitely HoF material

Hate him or not, I think Prime Time dances into the hall of fame, based on popularity alone.
CBs today are still doing his dance! lol

Feels like s**t to say, but I'm trying to be objective.
Jimmy Johnson.

^^^ Yep, he was the first shut down corner the league had seen. He was also a great return man. One could say Deion modeled his career after Johnson.

Teams would challenge Sanders on occasion but they rarely threw against Johnson. Also, while Sanders would just fall down in front of a ball carrier, Johnson would ring your bell.
I know it is hard for guys who grew up watching Sanders but Johnson was as good in most ways, even better in a couple of others.

Roger Craig and Eddie D.
Will Deion even go in as a Niner? My guess is either Falcons or Cowboys
