Ditto.... Totally different style of play... Garcia had happy feet more like Alex very nervous in the pocket... Troy is more poised inside the pocket from what I see, almost trust his line to much..
I see the same thing. Jeff Garcia was always nervous and bouncing around like he was on speed. Troy stands firm and keeps his eyes down field, obviously confident in his ability to sense pressure. When pass blocking breaks down, Jeff Garcia would "scramble" out of the pocket. When the pass blocking breaks down, Troy Smith "rolls" out of the pocket, eyes down field the whole time.
I said it in the Official Troy Smith thread and I'll say it again here. Troy Smith is a better "mobile" QB than Jeff Garcia. Not saying he's a better QB, just that aspect of his game is better.
Steve Young was way better than both, though.
