Perhaps Troy drops back better than Alex, but he is about 5 inches shorter too. If he stays in the pocket, it may be a problem seeing downfield and throwing over raised hands.

Yea thats the downside. But lineman, defense and offense also fight to get leverage so they arent always super tall blocking his view.
He gets deep super quick on his drops though. Far enough to see behind the lineman.
He also knows his arm is stronger so that depth doesnt hurt him as he steps into the pocket;
