Seriously, I tried to edit it twice; I don't know what's going on.

My point was two-fold:

1) A kicker that cannot be trusted to kick a sub-50 yard FG shouldn't be on the team... much like a backup QB who isn't trusted to take a snap.

2) The blocked FG wasn't his fault.

I haven't seen any evidence to suggest that he's good at kickoffs, but the AZ game isn't the best place to judge it. Arizona has won or stayed competitive in three or four games this year on the strength of the their return game alone. Best to squib or line drive it down and make them start at the 30 yard line every time than give them a chance to run one deep. That's especially true after the first 3-4 offensive series when it was clear Arizona couldn't do anything with the ball.
