Considering all the things that have gone wrong 2 1/2 aint that bad. Was talking with my dad today and said if the niners go 3-1 againts the AFC West and 5-1 against the NFC west they could possibly be in contention for the division. Not likely but possible.

If we didn't choke last week, we would of lost this week because Carr would be starting.

In a 16 game schedule, every game is so important. So yes, I agree it's a big difference...
This team should have learned the lessons of winning close games last year, however, that obviously has not been the case.

thats what gets me. the reason i thought we MIGHT be good this year is from learning from last years mistakes of losing close games. NOPE. horrible loss against the falcons and panthers that we shoulda won. not the mention the eagles and saints games were close as f**k. pisses me off

We could have a winning record. We don't. We still got a fighting chance!

well, look at it this way, if we count our pre season wins, we still wouldn't have a winning record.

We've only played one out of six games against our division in the first 8 weeks. So we can still catch up by winning the rest of those games. 9-7 or even 8-8 will win this division.
We just need to build on this momentum during the bye week - but again, one game at a time.

I think the only two games this year we had no shot at winning was KC and Seattle.
Look at the scores of those games and we just werent good enough.
But the rest of those games take a look:
Heartbreaker to New Orleans
Nate Clements stupidity in Atlanta
Too little too late against the Eagles
David Carr in Carolina
We lost those games by 11 points combined. So f*** 2-6 we should be 6-2.
Agree or Disagree?

That sounds familiar,

I can't remember the last time we actually won after our bye. And the rams seem like a much better team than us at this point. But another 4th quarter rally by Troy Smith may create some momentum.
Sam Bradford is going to have a field day against us tho. Hopefully we will win the turnover battle again.
