I support him insofar as I'm stuck with him and so I really really hope he finds a way to be successful. But the truth is the Yorks have 10+ years of failure to answer for. Jed is a part of that.

I believe that Jed wants to make the 49ers into a top notch franchise, but until he starts delivering some W's it's really hard to say that I'm convinced he can do it. He bet the farm on Singletary and he lost. So the question now is: What does he do about it? Does he learn from his mistakes and get it right the next time? Or does he deliver another 5 years of rebuilding/losing/still-no-stadium? We'll see.

As of right now, I am still supporting Jed. When did he take over? 2008?

Choices he has made:
1) Fired Nolan, made Sing interim head coach - We all wanted Nolan gone, and firing midseason was almost a guarantee for the assistant head coach to take over...
2) Hired Sing after 2008 - this one I did not completely like. At this point, we al felt Sing might be a good HC, however, and unknown commodity. People new to headcoaching come in all the time. You can't expect to always have an experienced HC. I was for the Sing hiring, but really wish they would have interviewed other candidates and at least attempted for HC outside.
3) Got stadium vote done - this was needed and overdue
4) Fired McCloughan - this was good and bad. Some were not huge fans of the guy, while others felt he was average at best.
5) appointed Trent Baalke as "pseudo-GM" - the draft and trades look pretty good so far in 2010. We got rid of Balmer, Robinson, and Jones. We picked up Westbrook and what looks to be a good draft class. For a guy that took over 3 weeks before the draft, he is doing well so far. I would be okay with Baalke as GM for 2011, but definitely get him an assistant with experience, or just hire outside
6) Fire's Jimmy Raye - this one is highly speculative, but Jed not being involved just doesn't fit. Sing adamantly supports Raye following the game, then fires him 12 hours later...?

Of the 5 above, the only one I am not completely happy with is #2.
Did I miss anything?
What would we like to see Jed do?
a) be more involved with players and coaches
b) Fire Sing (postseason may be better than midseason)
c) hire GM or experienced personnel to assist Baalke

Of course we do.

By default, if we support the 49ers we're supporting Jed.

No one should give him or his organization a dime. Hopefully, if things get bad enough for him, he'll finally sell the team to Ed Roski or the Wassermans and get us a real stadium.

You went from saying "I think he'll have to sell the team to Roski and they'll move to LA" to now saying "I HOPE he sells to the guy who would move us to LA".
