it is lack of leadership among the key players--and the key players are often the ones that make the crucial mistakes that cost the team ballgames---
ie Alex Smith, Frank Gore, Nate Clements
This team misses not just great talents like Montana, Rice, Lott--but their leadership and demand for excellence for themselves and the other players.
