I think Goldson will be gone next year. His play hasn't been too good this year. He had some good games last year, but I honestly thought him, fans and his agent overrated his season. I like what I see out of Smith... next year FS Smith and SS Mays?

I believe that Manusky has stated multiple times that the positions are actually interchangeable in his scheme.
He mostly plays a two deep shell, so the have the same basic responsibility. Cover one schemes usually have the SS in the box.

who's to say Manusky is going to be around after this season though
? We are severely lacking in depth in the secondary.

Mays and Smith should be out there at SS and FS. Goldson is showing that he was a one year wonder so far. reggie covers better and mays has the speed to recover even if he does make coverage mistakes early on.
