Okay Seriously what have the 49ers done since Eddie D had to hand over the team to his sister? DeBartolo gave up control of the 49ers in 2000? What after that did we do? and what HAS THE OWNERSHIP DONE?? Fired Mooch which I think was a mistake, I mean he was the last coach to get us to the playoffs, yes he did it 2 years in a row. Hired 2 fantastic coaches (lol) after Mooch Like: 03-Dennis Erickson 7-9 04- Dennis Erickson 2-14 05-Nolan 4-12 06-Nolan 7-9 07-Nolan 5-11 08-Nolan & Singles 7-9 Don't Forget The greatness of Terry Donahue. When Walsh retired in 2001 Donahue was elevated to the position of General Manager which he held for four seasons. So why fire Mooch when this d******d f**kED US!! Thanks to old Mr. UCLA s**t hit the fan for us cap wise, and drafting wise. It kills me to this day. Denise won't sell back the team to him. Controlling b***h, with a p***y for a husband. Sorry Jed, but momma, and pappa should go back to Hockey. That was the buis they were in before Eddie D got into trouble. DeBartolo was beloved as an owner, and many of his former players and fans i'm quite sure of still hold him in high regards. I don't believe the state of this team would be like it is if Eddie D was Owner. He'd hold the players and coaches to a higher standard, and I think the players & coaches would feed off of that mentallity, and we wouldn't be such a joke of a franchise now. look at our team. i'm not panacking at 0-3 I just think it'sa flat out joke who are coach is, who our player personal are. We could be doing so much better, yet we settle for less. It's a new curse my friends. I didn't think anything would change as Jed doesn't have total control over money. I don't fault those that did, they wanted to be hopeful, but were let down. Kind of like those that were excited to vote for Obama, nothing "fake" about people who had hope and then got pissed when someone didn't deliver.

John and Denise York are f*cking douchebags. Why do they want this team anyway? They don't know how to run it and don't care about it. It seems like that b*tch Denise is just holding it to keep it away from Eddie D. because she knows it's something he loved.

How exactly does that make anyone a fake ass fan?

I wasn't aware that changing opinions after further evaluation made somebody a "fake ass fan." Sounds like a more informed fan to me.

By the way, I don't mind Jed, but I hate Denise and John York. So I guess I'm not even in the category of fans you're talking about, but your logic is still stupid.

hard to believe Mariucci made it back to back to the Playoffs and we fire him 1 week after one of the great wins in Niners postseason history... the comeback against the Giants...

and we canned him for Dennis Erickson?

WTF didn't make sense then or now

were the Yorks intentionally trying to bring this franchise down? If so mission accomplished.

A person who knew how to run a football team f**ked up and got into trouble, then he had to give the team to his sister and brother in law who know absolutely nothing about running a football team.

What else would you expect to happen on Sundays after this event?

Its not a curse, its logical.

I have said time and time before, the NFL should outlaw NFL franchises being inherited, they should only be owned by super motivated owners...not people who have a cash cow fall in their laps. In the name of competiveness and parity they should institute something.

Eddie should have been forced to sell, not give it to Denise

Don't speak for everyone. Some of us are realists and refuse to hang off the nuts of anyone until they have proven they can make this franchise a winner. In the last 8 years this franchise has had no one that comes even close to that at any level. This ownership's franchise model is completely flawed and will lead to losing football until they get some real football people with a vision in the front office or sell the team.

I too blame Eddie, but hey...he walks the line...always has....it gained us 5 championships before it cost us anything. So, I am not going to blame Eddie too much for being Eddie.

Jed doesn't control anything. Don't you guys get it? He is the "faceman", "frontman" for PR and to meet with the media. Because everybody was sick of seeing that fat head Dr. York. You don't think he really runs a billion dollar franchise do you? He's 27. They needed a new face and PR for the stadium. So they put him forward. John still controls things behind the scenes.

No.

Many on this board still don't understand Donahue was just the "fall guy." The "scapegoat." The Yorks ownership told him to cut all the high priced players. He was doing as they said. They put him in a helpless scapegoat position. Much like sing put Raye in that same position telling him to run it up the middle 3 times and then punt. And he became sing's scapegoat. Do we see a pattern here?

You are going to try to convince everybody here that Yorks, as hands-off owners as can be, the same owners that extended Garcia, Barlow, Newberry, Plummer, and even today Gore, Willis, Davis, and actually negotiated a contract for a #1 overall pick, told the guy they ENTRUSTED because they don't know the 1st thing about managing a sports franchise to gut the team (when it was Donahue who convinced them that was what needed to happen)?

I'm sorry but if you truly believe that you are a FOOL, for lack of a better word.

I know people are upset, but you guys truly OVERESTIMATE just how much the owners' have an impact on the success and failures of a team. They don't coach, they don't score TDs, they don't play defense.

Ah but they do hire the personel and MGR's to hire the coaches who put together their staff?
