My guess is that Sing met with Smith, Davis and probably asked their perspective, didn't like what he heard, and pulled the plug.

I have been arguing for some time that the Niners need to abandon the "smashmouth"
philosophy and spread the field. They need to utilize their talent and speed. Offense is way too predictable.

Or he saw Jed York on his caller ID.
Yes..now all we need is to get rid of smith n put in Carr

I am cautiously optimistic. Does MJ have any playcalling experience that we are so happy to welcome him in? I am a bit on the cautious side guys. We are basically going with more inexperience. If this blows up in the NINERS collective faces then by all means the entire staff has to be replaced at seasons end.

this quote has me thinking...

Quote:
Raye has not seen eye to eye with Coach Mike Singletary about scope of offense. QB Alex Smith has been erratic and run game hit or miss"

Sing has ALWAYS said he wanted to run run run....even in yesterday's game he said he wanted to run run run in the second half...even though it was obvious we need to start passing more....

Raye did fine when Sing was open to us using the spread last year....

it has always seemed like this is Sing's offense.....Raye was just doing what he was told to do.....Sing has more confidence in Gore than Alex...even to the point where he would rather come back from double digit points by running the ball...lol...than passing with o'l Alex. Maybe Raye wanted to change the offensive approach, but Sing said no....then of course, with upstairs not knowing much....just made a move to make a move.

alot of people are celebrating, but I don't think it will make that much of a difference if Alex doesn't improve his play.....people always want to blame everyone else BUT Alex...but one thing is for sure.....alot of coaches/OCs have been fired with Alex as their QB.

The team did not look like it believed on either side of the ball Sunday.

He has no experience. I hope something amazing happens. With our luck though...doubt it

Stop trying to start sht. Everyone including "supporters" have said it's playoffs or he's gone.

Only exception to that rule is if he plays lights out amazing and puts up Drew Brees type numbers and somehow we don't make the playoffs. The chance that the latter happens is about the same as you and susweel and others stop parroting your bullsht.

Thread title: RAYE FIRED

Hater response: Alex sucks.

C'mon there is a definite relationship between the two.

If Alex was actually producing would there be any way in the world Raye would be fired?

exactly.

This is really sad from a football sense Shaj. You're better than that, do you really think Tom Brady or Peyton Manning would do much better with these exact play calls? Do you think Barry Sanders would run better with these play calls?

Lol, Maiocco just said that the Chiefs were calling out the plays before the ball was snapped. It's sad some people who "watch" so much football can't see that this has been the worst offensive system ever since Jim Hostler in the all of football. I mean comon, no one is making excuses for Alex right now, look at frank Gores running numbers. Are you making GORESCUSES????
Finally some good news!
Maybe we can actually do something on offisive now!
Alex smith 7 OC in his NFL carrier !wow on that front
Good.....bc when your star player (Gore) has a big run and IS TIRED.....YOU DONT KEEP HIM IN AND HAVE HIM RUN THE BALL AGAIN FOR A LOSS OF 2, especially when you have Westbrook on the sideline. Now thats just one of many stupid management decisions, whether its Rayes or whoevers fault.

Sing didn't fire Raye. Whoever did hopefully has Sing in his sights.

I'm sure Singletary is gone at the end of the year. Unless of course we can turn this season around. But I seriously don't see that happening with A.Smith at the helm.

Looks like we could be starting next year with a new staff and no quarterback. It sucks to say it but that bad news could be the best news.

This. Gore is tired give him a f**king rest. Wtf is so damn difficult? It's like they won't sub the poor guy out unless he is f**king injured. Asking him to sprain his ankle again.

A lot of that is because Singletary hates the passing game so much due to the fear of turnovers. With Smith throwing the rock doesn't necessarily ease his fear to throw more. But you make some valid points about Singletary.

As a matter of fact yesterday in his presser a reporter asked Sing "what is your identity on offense?" . He totally dodged the question and said something like "we have to go look a the film

You misunderstand the Smith supporters. No one is excusing him this year. If he doesn't start performing, then he's gone. Plain and simple.

A lot of coaches/OC have been fired, because they deserve to have been fired, not because Alex Smith was the QB.
They could put a PS3 on the sideline, and just use ask Madden. That would be better play calling then Raye. So it can only get better!

You don't get it. Did Raye suck? Yes.

But the non-playmaker Smith is the coordinator killer. People somehow have hitched their wagon to this donkey and a lot of people are suffering for it. Anyone who still thinks Smith can be a good QB is insane or stupid.
