Nolan went down with Alex Smith as his QB. Those two will be eternally linked - and now Sing is in the same boat. All of his eggs are in Alex's basket. How do you not bring in a competent backup to challenge Alex? Patrick Willis had it right…why let Hill go for Carr? Competition begets competition. So frustrating to see Hill, Cassell, Vick, McNabb play well for OTHER teams and some for s**tty teams. Not that they would of played for us, but at least make a run at them. How many QB’s have we passed in the draft? f**k I want Alex to succeed desperately, especially tonight! – What I have learned is when you have someone knocking on your job’s door, any job, your desire elevates exponentially.

Agree, but it is almost like Singletary was so arrogant that he assumed he could turn Alex into an NFL QB, but now, his fate is in the hands of Alex. NOT bashing, Alex, just how I see it. I hope he gets it done tonight!
