We did well against the Colts last year. Our offensive and defensive game plans in that game were pretty solid.

are you kidding? we did what every team wants to do. Move the ball on the ground and be physical with them. Did you see how fast their pass rushers move? If you want to sit back and throw the ball you will get your butt whooped like the NYG did tonight. I think the plan was right on. You are just looking at reasons to hate a guy.

YAY ANOTHER JIMMY RAYE THREAD

Last year: Jacksonville and at the Seahawks.

These were the only games all year where we opened up the offense and moved the ball.

Jacksonville -- The defense barely had to do anything against Jacksonville because our offense was so efficient. They were also well rested the whole game. The easiest game our defense has had in years. For once, the game was not on their shoulders to win it.

Seahawks -- We moved the ball and scored points against the Seahawks in their place like we never have before or since. The game was lost due to numerous special teams blunders.

These games were back-to-back. Due to the special teams blunders, for some bizarre reason, we decided to abandon this high-scoring strategy for a low scoring strategy. I have been apoplectic about it ever since.

The Cardinals game the next week was won with DEFENSE and nothing else.
The Philadelphia game was a joke that revealed how pathetic our scheme really was.
The Rams game was almost just as pathetic. In fact, it was a perfect example of everything that is wrong with our offensive mindset. We should have ANNIHILATED the Rams in that game. But our mindset was to play it safe.

Now, we are doing some kind of "dink and dunk" philosophy that has no resemblance to the excellent Jacksonville or Seahawks schemes.

God knows what we will do against the Saints. Perhaps go back to last years strategy. Run the ball until we are down by 21, then pass the ball the rest of the game just to come up short at the end.

Alex Smith looked great in those two games. Why we have abandoned that strategy is completely mystifying.
