How about Jeff Kemp filling in pretty well when Montana went down in 86. In 92 I think the Niners were 4-5 when Young went down and Steve Bono came in and led the team to 5 or 6 wins in a row. Matt Cavanaugh use to get a couple of starts a season for a few years and usually had good games. Guy Benjamin.........can't really think of anything he did for the Niners. But he was pretty good for Walsh at Stanford.

yall remember that Indian (or Pakistani?) QB we had that never made it on to the field?
I think he went to NFL Europe and finished his non playing career with the Seahawks.

Trent Dilfer for starting half a season for us and playing terrible
his stats: 7g 7Td 12 Int 27 Sacks 166 yd/g
He did have 1 game we won where he went 25/39 256 yards 2 TD and no INTs
vs the Cards too

That was in '91 when we were the hottest team NOT to make the playoffs (10-6) We lost that heartbreaker to Atlanta on the hail mary
