Dennis Erickson blew out the Bears in his first game, and we went on to suck that season!!! if you're hoping the hawks suck this season...

Something most of us didn't take into consideration with this game. Pete is a raw raw type of coach and a lot of time players come out there first game and win. Actually, a lot of the time teams win their first game with a new coach just because of the extra something. It's hard to describe... kind of like how we play well on MNF, how we play well when someone gets their jersey retired... things like that. There is a little extra in the atmosphere.

Kind of like with Singletary... a team might react initially to that motivational stuff but it often wears off. At some point you have to become an x's and o's man and learn to manage the game well as a coach.
