I don't like Bowman as the only backup ILB.

agreed wilihem is more than servicable hes a very good tackler

Disagree after watching Wilhelm moving slower than molasses last night and not coming close to making tackles near or at the line of scrimmage. That delayed middle draw by Tolbert(?) went for big yardage and Wilhelm didn't even get a hand on him.

Maybe Ahmad Brooks or Kyle Williams ends up on PUP and the 49ers pick up one of their players waived today or off some other team's scrap heap? We'll see.

I HOPE FINISH MI REPORT TO GO HOME AND PLAY MADDEN 11 ALL NIGHT

Screw the report just play madden.

PERU can speak english, too.
Looks like he just used google translate with the grammar.

Anyways, the only guy on that list that I wished we had room for is Will Tukuafu. Just ask Toby Gerhart about Will Tukuafu.

Instead, it's Will James.

So they're keeping Tukuafu?! Good! The kid can play...not get rid of Evans and bring back Wilhelm.

We must keep Tukuafu cuz he is very good for play a football and give us for develop for defense as win as he can..

Housh is about to go whoosh.
I wonder how many roster spots they're saving in order to see who gets cut from other teams.

Brock and Wragge are probably the most vulnerable, they were really helped by injuries to James and Heitmann

sounds like we'll be picking up another ILB at some point

Hard to say, but any of the PS eligible guys like Taylor and Brock could be the first ones to go if a talent upgrade is available.

and/or a CB I hope
hmmm....so Curtis Taylor and Brock made it? so far at-least.

happy for Curtis....I have always been curious about the guy...he has the size and speed...but not enough playing time to really judge him.

unfortunately, he might be one of the first players to get cut if the team wanted to get someone else at another position...

yeah, and I like Brock actually...most of the time he seemed to cover his receiver well...and even on the penalty it seemed like it was a so-so call...it was not like he had his hands right in front of the other guys face.

I think Brock goes first. With this being Lewis's last year Taylor becomes the 4th Safety next year. Also we will be in the market for a CB in next years draft...possibly 2.

Well if anything this says Mike Solari definitely has a strong voice among the coaching staff. This is the first time in years I've seen this team go heavy at the OL opposed to LB (under Nolan). I guess Solari never wants to be put in the situation he was in at Seattle when his OL started dropping like flies to injury.

At least Singletary is LEARNING and listening to his coaches this go-round. It's simple - no OL, no play-offs. Long drives help score points, keeps your D fresh and the opposing O off the field. I'm so happy we are going deep at OL and didn't go light here. That would have been a huge mistake. Not only is Baas injury prone but Staley dinged that knee. Davis hasn't yet been tested at RT with a real game so we don't know how he'll fare. You could say that for both rooks.

This is one of the smartest 53-man roster I've seen from the 49ers in a long time. No wasted spots to Taser bulls**t and much less emphasis on hybrids. Keep WRs that matter - finally than the standard 6 WRs. This totally make sense when you have 2 TEs who are essentially WRs.

Byham(?) really must have impressed as both a pass-catcher and a blocker. He essentially killed any chance for Brit Miller of Jehu from making the squad. I just hope Norris stays healthy.

Looks like Briggs and LaBoy's pass-rushing ability didn't go unnoticed since the only pass-rusher on the team besides those guys has a lacerated kidney.

I applaud the moves.

Go Niners!

**** we should have a long look at Housh *** here's why: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=5529209

How hard does he play against Seattle this season?

Nice post. We all focused on the player, but you brought up the big picture. I agree 100 percent.
Now we can give Dixon #24

Didn't they just pay him big money?

He would make a good number 2 like he was in Cincinnati.

he's a possession receiver who is about to turn 33, no thanks

slow and old is not the way to go

not to mention he's got a huge ego

You act like we're looking for a number one receiver.

does it matter either way? the guy is a notorious cancer, wasn't even that good to begin with, and is on the decline with no upside

Yet he's better than any receiver we have, besides Crabtree.

I thought one of the blogs said that Byham was playing well as a TE and as that Z-Back role, or the hybrid FB, blocker, 3rd receiver.
