Keep Adams, Cut Paymah, Promote Mays

Reggie Smith is good, i'd rather cut Paymah then James

I agree with you in thinking Adams seems to have the "it" factor. It's more than the TD. It's the other two punt returns (for 33 yards): he was decisive - in fact, he displayed exactly what Sing has been preaching to Dixon to display: make a decision and HIT THE HOLE!

His one big error was calling for a fair catch and then not MAKING the fair catch (or at least getting out of the way). It could have easily resulted in the ball hitting one of his teammates with disastrous results. Sing talked to him immediately on the sidelines, and the next time he responded perfectly! That's the kind of thing that impresses.

In pass coverage I've counted 3 passes defensed in 2 halves, a couple more incomplete when he had good coverage and a couple more completed in front of him in situations where that was the right play. Again, he seems to get it. And he seems to act decisively.

But we will go against 4 wideouts often this year and it is not unusual to carry 10 DBs. So I seriously doubt Smith OR Paymah will have to be released to keep him.

I wish we had better safeties.

It's going to come down to Adams or Williams. Adams seems like he has the skills to play CB, where Williams will just be a KR and if he's kept, signals the end of Jason Hill.

Yes. I agree. Bly seemed to be better than any of the free agent CB's we signed this year, so there must have been a personality conflict with Bly and some of the coaches.

Adams has played good in camp and pre season IDK about the "it" factor its pre-season....

I think we will end up calling Bly at some point (if he is still free) I don't have any confidence in Tarrell Brown.

On the contrary, Paymah and Reggie Smith are going in the other direction. Paymah can't seem to cover anybody. He's either out of position, or having guys run by him. And Reggie Smith is making way too many mental mistakes on reads and responsibilities. If we only keep four CB's. I'd feel a lot better keeping Adams and cutting Paymah. And at this point, I'd like to see more of Taylor Mays than Reggie Smith. I'm sure Mays will make his share of mistakes, but he has the recovery speed to make up for some of those mistakes, and I don't see that with Smith. I also think that Mays brings a much more physical presence on the field than Smith. I'd like to see more of Will James, but the ankle injury will probably make it difficult to evaluate him before cut-down day.

PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN!!! we will be so much better off.

If James were healthy, then cutting Paymah would be an option. Adams all but guaranteed himself a spot with his performance on Saturday on both ST and in coverage. Mays is not going to be the first guy promoted if they replace M. Lewis. That would be Reggie Smith without a doubt.

Adams will make it, but i doubt he will see the field on D. they will play guys they feel comfortable with like they did with mark "i can't do anything right" roman.

I think thats league wude. Bly is a good corner, but is always looking for a job at the end of the season. There's probably a reason for that.

This guy has already surprised so far this season. If he actually gets some playing time, I wouldn't be disappointed or surprised. Maybe Lewis will get another concussion and they will have to move Smith into the lineup. That may leave some playing time in the nickel for Adams. Stranger things have happened.

I wouldn't bet on Reggie over Mays. Reggie is to small to play close to the line of scrimmage. he's a corner in the real world
