Thats weird you said that. During the interview, I was thinking that he is going to come work as an assistant to us after he retires. He does love all our guys (as in the OL) and not just his brothas. Hes very happy to be here in SF
After these past 8 years or so, with the Steve Young era coming to an end, then the Garcia and Owens era, then the absolute agony of the years that fallowed, it is absolutely GREAT to hear players like Spikes and Mays talk about how much they want to play here and especially play for Singletary.

Even in those great years it always seemed like we were soft, even when we were going 12-4 and 11-5, now it seems like we are Ravens and Steelers tough.

THis is BY FAR the most exciting season we've seen in years.

As much as it hurts to say it, when T.O. said we were going to be "terrible for years", he ended up being right, but those years are FINALLY OVER!!!!!

T.O. has been right about alot of things, certainly more things some around would like to admit....but I don't remember him saying that about our team.
"Boom!"

"Boom Boom!"
I have been critical of the Mays pick but there's no denying the kid's work ethic, attitude, and desire. I'm rootin' for him.

Also, I can easily see him being a team captain down the road. He seems to have the leadership swagger.

I remember when TO made the Pro bowl back in 01' or something and ESPN interviewed him. They asked him what he thought of Terry Donahue and TD saying that he drops too many passes. He responded with "I didn't drop this plane ticket to Hawaii when it was handed to me. Did I?" I was like Ohhhhhhh
Mays is going to blow someone up in the preseason for sure. Hopefully in the regular season and playoffs too.

I agree. This interview was head and shoulders above most interviews you see every day on ESPN or NFLN that are generic and give no useful information.

This and the highlight video of the niners beating the cards that is posted in 49ers.com really have me ready for the season.
did anyone else get the feeling that english was probably not Mays' major at USC?

He has spoken very well in radio interviews. I think it has more to do with him just relaxing and hanging out without having to be all professional.

Well look at Jerry's speech at the HoF.....and the keyword is HoF....T Mays isn't here to write a book he's here to hit people in the mouth pop the ball out catch it take it into the endzone and join Takeo for the Sexy Dance
If Taylor was drafted in the the top 10-15, he may not have the same attitude, I think because he was drafted where he was, is an eye opener for him and he knows that he needs to work on things people question him about. So this chip on his shoulder is good and he will come across as steal for us, since he wants to prove wrong.
