All the best to Brooks, Heitmann, and others, but it just allows the team to maintain good depth.
Thats why you love this game?
Thats not why I love this game.

Nutcracker is really the only drill that we run that's different than other training camps so I don't see his camp being much tougher than any other camp.
It's like asking if McDaniel's camp is too tough because they lost Dumervil for the year or Phillips' camp being too harsh because Dez Byrant got a high ankle sprain.

Meh this is happening all over the league. We're on an 'injury leap year', it's gonna be similar to 2007 when every other team lost their starters during pre-season until week 3-4.

Singletary has a very high standard. How many HOF players have become coaches?
I don't know if he's trying to get the intensity level up to his standard of play but I don't think many players, except for PWillie, can be like Mike. Maybe it's time to lighten up, but just a little.

Wow Where are all the anti nutcrackers? Last year they had a few minor injury's during the nutcracker and people on here went nuts. It just shows they are going to happen when ever. Deal with it.

It's a contact sport and it happens. Bust in your ass right now definitely helps your conditioning towards the end of the game. I love what he is doing. You get better by pushing yourself to new levels

He finally gets it
Wednesday, Aug. 11
Morning (practice No. 17)
Summary: Remember all that talk about Mike Singletary running a brutal training camp? The 49ers practiced in shells in a morning session designed to give many of the veterans a rest. The backups saw most of the action in the 11-on-11 work. Fourth-string quarterback Jarrett Brown saw action for one of the few times since he signed as an undrafted rookie. He took two snaps of 11-on-11, completing one of his two attempts.

This is just a part of football. It happens all around the league. The camp is no different than most. Most of the injuries have not come from the infamous nutcracker which is one of the few differences maybe.
If you ever played football at HS or College level, the first few weeks are hell then you get back into the groove.
Unless you do like rice and craig did, and that is train year around except for a four week period after the season ends, you will be tired, winded aching, etc...
Sometimes its just bad karma. Sometimes you just land wrong, sometimes somebody rolls up on you, sometimes your body just gives for no apparent reason.
