He dominates just about every "Greatest QB" poll imaginable (he dominated this poll 2 years ago during Favre's first retirement).
-I remember NFL.com voters rated Joe as the greatest NFL draft pick of all time (as well as the greatest QB of all time to be drafted); around April.
4 rings, a career of dominance/memorable comebacks (including 2/4 SB blowouts), and no Superbowl defeats/interceptions. Joe Montana will remain a football demi-god until these feats are surpassed.

Im very partial to Steve Young but I would put Montana #1.. Marino, Elway, Brady, Manning all have to be in that list. I guess Favre too but I cant stand the guy!

Why would Brady be #2?? He's about where he should be. If it because of Super Bowls then Bradshaw should be #2.
Brady has awesome numbers as well as Super Bowl Championships.
He is a top 3 QB of all time
No, he is not. Tom Brady is a very good QB but simply not the 3rd best QB all time. He isn't even the best QB of his era (that honor goes to Manning). Brady is 3-1 in super bowls but two of his three wins were directly due to Vinatieri. If Vinatieri was Scott Norwood, then Brady would be Jim Kelly. How many out there are claiming Kelly is a top 2 QB?
To be considered the greatest you need to be known for not only the wins, but the manner in which you got those wins. Montana beat Marino and Elway in their primes, he led a last minute SB winning drive, he threw the "Catch". Elway is known for the Drive and for the damn helicopter spin against GB, and being the only QB to take his team to the SB 5 times. Young is known for 6 TDs in the SB, running through Minnesota's defense for a 40 yard TD scamper, and being the only QB to win a SB following a Hall of Famer.
Brady's signature play in the NFL is the "tuck rule" sack. Brady had history in his grasp in 2007 and had a mediocre game in the SB against a Giants team the Pats demolished 4 weeks earlier. Yes, Brady's 2007 season was statistically one of the 3 best seasons for a QB however the league rules have made the passing game so much easier now than it was even a decade ago. No one can say that Brady's 2007 or Manning's 2004 was better than Marino's 1985. Think about the rules in '85 when Marino set those passing records. (I hate Marino but damn that was the best season of all time). 11 QBs passed for 4,000 yards last year. That comprises 15% of the TOTAL number of QBs that have thrown for 4,000 yards in league history. You got guys like Drew Brees setting percentage records and throwing for 5,000 yards. So to say that Brady, or any QB in today's NFL should be ranked higher than QBs of previous eras simply because their numbers are better is to discount the greatness of guys like Baugh, Starr, Unitas, and Bradshaw - winners that, in my opinion, had a much greater impact on the NFL than Tom Brady has.
In my opinion, the following QBs rank higher than Brady:
1. Montana
2. Elway
3. Unitas
4. Favre
5. Baugh
6. Manning
7. Starr
8. Marino
9. Young
10. Aikman
11. Bradshaw
You can argue with how I've ranked these 11 guys. But there are two things that can't really be argued. The first is that Montana is the greatest QB of all time. The second is that Brady is an overrated douche. Kidding. But he isn't top 5 all time.

Shouldn't Baugh get more respect?
Yes. Few know what an amazing football player this guy was. The King (old KNBR host) said he was the best QB to ever play and he saw everyone on that list play except for Brady.
187 TDS
203 INT
21,886 YDS
72.2 RTG
Not the greatest stats (YA Tittle had better) but Sammy Baugh played "old school" football - leading the entire NFL in categories on offense (passing), defense (interceptions) and special teams (punting) all in the same season!
Maybe Jim Kelly or Sid Luckman should have been on there as well over say Griese.

1) Glad to see Joe is dominating the votes.
2) Sammy Baugh is way underrated on this list.
3) How is Joe only edging Payton by a few "points" when he is absolutely KILLING him in #1 vote gets. How exactly does the point system tabulate?

Where would he be without a good kicker?
I would put Montana, Elway, and Marino ahead of Brady. Maybe Baugh, too. But I wasn't alive when he played. Walsh gave him a very high endorsement though, good enough for me.
who got the kicker in position to make those field goals?
Where would Montana be without all of his weapons, where would John Elway be without Terrell Davis?
You can do that with all these QBs.
Haha we already know that answer! Elway would be 0-3 with a 55-10 loss to a certain team in one of those super bowls
