I'm just a 22 year old recent college grad but I did major in business and one thing I learned is that product tying (requiring the purchase of one item in order to buy another item) is illegal. Have the niners always done this with single game ticket sales?
Can someone with more experience explain to me how this might not be illegal?
Me and my friends just want to go to the raiders game for a good ol rivalry game but we can't afford to buy tickets for 2 games.
Guess my other option is stubhub...
The San Diego Chargers have been doing this for years with the Raiders game. Their goal is to prevent the riff-raff (sp?) from going to the Raiders game and causing problems by forcing them to buy tickets to other games under the assumption they can't/won't afford it. I think it is genius!
No clue if it is illegal, but I imagine if it was cut & dry illegal the 49ers legal counsel would have shot it down long ago.
