I think it originated from the glory days of USC, way back when...they would pull the right guard and everybody went left, blowing a hole for the tailback.

They used to run that a lot in my high school football days. Not my team, but some opposing teams. Everybody and their mama, including the QB, runs to the left and tries to block somebody. The guards, tackles, center, tight ends and wrs pull to the left. Sh*t never worked. It was just because they weren't talented enough to block people straight on.

i have to believe Gore is going to get into the second line of defense a lot this year. with crabtree and vd, i think there is enough talent that they can't always load up and put an 8th guy in the box.
