I've seen McNabb outrun Strahan, your point?

Haralson, Brooks, Willis, Lawson BEAST!!
The reason Brooks is a Niner is cause he sucks in the middle.

This. Brooks has come into his own as an OLB. Spikes is an ILB

If brooks plays, he'll take Haralson's spot, lawson did better than haralson, and brooks did better than those two.

I guess you're right. Haralson really struggled in coverage as I recall. Someone's going to have to step up in coverage for next season though. We're going to have to put a high priority on an OLB in next seasons draft if we don't have anyone that can cover.

So how do you figure that Manny is the weaker pass rusher when he was our sack leader last year while sitting on the bench on 3rd downs? I'm not sure what sort of a contract he is looking for, but I do understand why he doesn't want to risk injury for a sub-million dollar contract when he is clearly worth a lot more than that to somebody.
If we don't get him signed long term we will miss him.

I think Brooks comes in on 3rd down to replace Haralson. I think Lawson is better in coverage than Haralson for the 3rd. Bowman will eventually replaced Spikes

What? According to most resource his salary this year will be in excess of $1.8 million. As he is still under contract and has hardly set the NFL on fire, it seems not unreasonable to expect him to put a little effort in, or as you put it, to risk injury.
Whilst I would like to keep him, if he gets too greedy he is quite replaceable

Haralson is a trashbag. Start Brooks over his scrubby ass.

He doesn't suck as a MLB or ILB, we just happen to have better veterans at Ted and he brings more value as a pass-rusher. As a ILB in college he was known as a potential 1st round pick, till he got booted off the team.

IMO, he's a great situational pass rusher, but doesn't have the overall skills to be an every down player. I hope he can prove me wrong, though.

Seriously, some of you guys make me laugh. Ahmad Brooks has been in the league since 2006, was tossed from the Bengals and has yet to prove capable of being a full time starter on a Niners team that has yet to post a winning season since he's been here. I'm sure you guys are right. Manny's a bust and Brooks is the next Demarcus Ware. I hope the best for Brooks, but coming off the bench with fresh legs and the single goal of rushing the passer is a far cry from playing every down, containing the edge, dropping into coverage and trying to rush a premier OT that has had a chance to break down your game film! Just ask Haralson. Be careful what you wish for because you just might get it.
If I'm Lawson I'm probably not playing for 500K this season when Brooks and Haralson are making more and have proven far less, especially when you consider one injury can end your career (Earning Power). To be fair, if I'm the Niners and Lawson is asking for premier passrushing OLB money I'm probably telling him to take a hike.
