same thing last year in preseason with davis. what we are not noting is whoever is on defense. accuracy is accuracy. everyone wants to hate on smith for not being accurate... Well 18-19 is super accurate. even if he had or didnt have pressure. If he was pressured and u lower to 14 of 19 thats still accurate!

To all the smith haters... No reason to talk smack anymore, as i am a smith homer according to you. Alex has this year, he has his weaopons, he has a better line. and a same coordinator for the first time. As i completely encourage and hope smith does great, homer or hater u should too! Its 1 year as a niner fan it should not be hard to support him!

Historically speaking, I fall under the Smith "Hater" group (though I don't hate the guy), but I have to agree with this. True it is just practice and not against the main defensive guys. But accuracy is accuracy and that is impressive no matter how you slice it.

I just hope that the Davis haters remember that too when they talk about pre-season performance.

Seriously, I hope Smith can continue that in regular season games. It's definitely reason to be optimistic (albeit guardedly).
Man I hope so, I have been called an Alex "Hater: more than once. If he can show up, blow up and prove me wrong I will eat crow, and like it!
Alex Smith was as efficient in team drills as he's been since entering the NFL. He completed 15 of 16 passes, most of them short, but precise, throws. His lone incompletion came on his second to last attempt when he overthrew Vernon Davis in the back of the end zone.

So what you're saying is, we HAVE heard this before. Add a little more caution to my optimism.

Yeah but a lot of people complained that his YPA wasn't good enough and sometimes all he did was dump the ball off. In that article it says he threw mostly short throws. Today it sounds like he was completing much tougher passes and threw more TDs.

Note the date of the article. August. Two months later in the year.

According to one of the reporters this morning via Twitter, the offense was working on 4th and long situations today.

We hear the same stuff every year, as shown by the date of the article.

Uh, guys... Alex wasn't even at practice today.

Davis and Iupati with the ones today and Alex Smith catches fire. Hmmm... that's a mustache twister.
