But Im wondering why we didnt give Walt a contract he was so great for us during his time here. Bly, ehh not a big big loss.

Dre's gonna be Dre

Fail. I'm so glad that showboating idiot is not returning.
Boy, I sure hope they still geve Walt Harris a look see before just dropping him that could prove to be a mistake. Walt is a very hard worker and proved as much by revitalizing his career when he signed here. A LOOK SEE WOULD NOT HURT.

Oh how we soon forget. This is similar to the reaction Walt got when he came here in 06. Remember, Walt was going into his 10th season when he arrived in SF and was coming off a very meh season in Washington (13 games, 49 tkls, 1 int) and he was written off by most before he even made it to camp. Everyone remembers that he ending being a Pro Bowler that year but few remember the moans and groans when we signed him. I'm not suggesting that James is the second coming of Walt Harris but I am suggesting that those who are always so quick to jump to conclusions about a guy before he suits up just chill for a bit.

He will be the #4 CB at best. We wont be seeing much of him
Honestly guys, it wouldnt surprise me if he got more playing time then T Brown.

Will James is a solid veteran who strengthens our secondary.
James is a physical corner, Singletary loves players who enjoy contact, lets give the guy a chance before we declare this move a mistake.

Because he is on the wrong side of 30, coming off a serious knee injury.

If that strip was only the icing on the cake. If i remember correctly he dropped a pick 6 at the end of the minny and indy games that would have sealed the deal on both games. We should have won 10 games had it not been from "dre drop"
Yeah, the vikings, indy, and i feel like there was one in the titans game.. could be wrong.

Man... I love Alex, but that ball was way under thrown. Here's hoping this year that will be a touchdown pass.
It was underthrown, it also looked like alex was surprised to see him there.. and it looks like he threw it late.

surprisingly, that was an improvement over who he used to be :) I'm still on the smith bandwagon, hope he explodes onto the scene.

we just signed THAT guy for corner depth..

God that was a terrible throw from Alex. Crabs was wide open and that should have been an easy 6.

Shaky catch by Crabtree, almost dropped it
Came down like a punt.

Taylor Mays would have caught Roddy White. We now may have the fastest DB (Corner or safety) in Taylor Mays and Goldson runs like a corner to and now that he knows what he is doing, he makes plays and helps prevent big plays.

Shawntae Spencer up until last year was considered an injury prone corner, Nate Clements is getting up there in years and is coming of a serious injury and Tarrell Brown has had his own injury issues over the years.
Will James - 3rd worst CB in the NFL?

Somebody linked to these cumulative position rankings, and Will James was the 3rd worst CB in the national football league last year; if that's the case, why the hell did we sign him?

That statistic is based on combined CB stats, and that is for all players, players who's gotten at least 50% of the snaps, and players who've gotten at least 75% of the snaps.

In QB rating allowed, James allowed a QB rating of 88.7 -- Shawntae Spencer allowed a QB rating of 70. The stat is kind of misleading though, because some corners are only targeted if a WR is wide-open in zone coverage or prevent

But by every objective metric, William James is horrible.

Its also interesting to note that Arnez Battle was the worst punt returner in the NFL, #291/291
