Will both Anthony Davis and Mike Iupati start week 1?

LT - Joe Staley Barry Sims

LG - Mike Iupati, David Baas

C - Eric Heitmann, Cody Wallace

RG - Chilo Rachal, Adam Snyder

RT - Anthony Davis, Barry Sims/Alex Boone/Adam Snyder?

I think that Davis can be considered the starter @ RT today. I don't think that Iupati will start until mid-season. Hopefully i'm wrong.

If the measure used is sacks allowed over the past several years then, yes, our O-line was the worst in the league.

Sing is saying the right things with talk like "he doesn't want to give anything to anybody". Yada yada yada. They were drafted in the first round. They better start. Iupati is considered the best guard in the draft and ready so I think he's in the line up opening day. Davis is only twenty and supposedly has motivation issues but right tackle has been a gaping hole for us. Davis will get tons of reps and have to fail not to start. We're better sooner with Davis making mistakes and learning from them than Snyder just not playing well enough. We drafted an OT first for a reason.

Coach Sing was asked during the press conference today with Davis and Iupati, if they would start, and he said no.

hes a huge fan of competition i didnt watch the video but i think he means they are not going to be handed the jobs they need to earn it

Agreed. He said it wouldn't be fair to just throw them into the first game. Judging by the way he was talking though he expects them to play and win starting positions. this season......

Davis starts no matter what, I think Iutapi will start at some point but they may keep Baas there for a few weeks to open the season.

I would like to see Baas moved over to RG to compete w/Rachal, let our first round picks go to work!
