I think the niners will at most go 9-7. It's annoying seeing people predicting that they'll go freaking, "13-3", "12-4" and s**t. We're good, but NOT THAT GOOD YET. We're more on par, or equivalent to the Jags, Panthers, (yes, panthers..) possibly the Broncos or Bengals.. But we are NOT an upper echelon like the Colts, Saints, Chargers, or the Eagles! 'Cept the eagles lost an "echelon" player, McNabb. So we'll see how they do this year.

Furthermore, we just aren't that good yet. We just aren't. Pure and simple. The only way to get to THAT level of authority and echelon status, is consistency. We need an offensive line boost, fix, change, re alignment to protect Smith, and to open holes and block additionally down field for Gore. Then comes Alex Smith. He HAS to play well this year. His job is on the line pretty much as we all know. He must be consistent. He has the same offensive coordinator for the FIRST time in his career. This is good. Bring on the power running plays and a mix of the spread offense, eliminating any injury's, and with off-season improvement, Smith will be a keeper. But it all boils down to consistency.

We have the weapons... Morgan, Crabtree, Davis, Gore. Now all we just need is a QB that can stay consistent in his tremendous improvement as of last year, and a revamped O-Line to protect him. That secures our offense. Now let's talk about defense. We have a pretty decent defense to say the least. Unfortunately we lack speed, and we try to make up for that by playing zone. I believe our secondary still needs a lot of work, our CB's have much potential, but still lack speed. And the best part of our defense is our front 7. The General of our defense, mr. Ray Lewis jr., Patrick Willis of course. Our pass rush is also getting better, but we don't really have that solidified yet.

All in all those are my opinions/thoughts on what it would take to make us a upper echelon team. To sum it up, consistency, minimizing penalties, and starting fast + finishing games. It seemed like at the beginning of last season we weren't finishing games. Then in the second ha;f of the season it seemed like we weren't starting fast in games. lol..

Anyways, sorry if I got offtopic. Was just expressing thoughts that never seem to run out when it comes to my favorite team.

damn its a tough schedule this year especially the first 5 games.

wk 1 @ sea(we couldnt beat them at home when we needed to)
wk 2 vs saints monday night.(tough game vs the champs. if we dont improve our secondary/pass rush we may get tourched)
w 3 @ k.c. early game(west coast teams dont fair too well on the road in early games. were better than kc overall but they have the better qb)
w 4 @ atl early game(back to back early road games will be tough. we got tourch @ home last year by atl. hopefully we improve the secondary because we will need it)
w 5 vs phi sunday night(we can beat them without mcnabb but it will be tough regardless because its the eagles)

at worst its possible we start out 0-5(hope not) at best 3-2 or may be 4-1, but we need to improve drastically in the secondary, pass rush and of course the offensive line(i failed to mention that earlier). the ot we get from the draft needs to grow up quick and it will all be on alex, he cant fail this year or it will be time to get a new qb.

This schedule really could f**k us. This is the type of team with expectations that needs a good start or it could lose confidence quickly. Having 3 road games and the home home game pretty much unwinnable is not a recipe for success. Also the amount of early starts is BS too. I'm less enthusiastic as I was before this schedule came out. I can see us starting 1-3 and not recovering. 8-8
I honestly can't see us winning less than nine games. Look at who we competed against last year. We were on the road against teams that made it to the playoffs and were very close to pulling off victories. Remember the Colts game, the Green bay game, the vikings game...etc. I can't imagine us being any worse than what we were last year and only see us being much better. We have all the right players in place, it's just a matter of pass protection and execution. I know we can win atleast three of the seven games against the Saints, Eagles,Broncos,Falcons, Panthers, Packers, and the Chargers. I see us undefeated in our division. Seahawks, new coaching, new system. no chance, we win both of them. Rams no chance. Cardinals lost too many players in key positons and I don't think they will fill enough of them this offseason, sorry we take both games. The other three games are against the Chiefs, Raiders and the Buccaneers. And yes, they will all be wins. My prediction barring too many key injuries, of course, is 11-5.
i wanna see what we do in the draft before i make a prediction

I see us AT LEAST 2-3 defeating SEA and KC. The other two we might win (50/50 chance) is against ATL and PHI (no more McNabb increased our chances). I wish I had more confidence, but just can't see us defeating the Saints, even though it's a home game.

Yes, with out plugging any holes, it is 8-8 again.

I think we'll have a shot at taking down the Saints. We're at home, on a Monday Night, against the Champs, and its so early in the season we could catch them in their "super bowl hangover." Also, as good as NO was last year, they also had a lot of things fall their way, lots of bounces, etc, and you can't expect that to happen every year. I wouldn't be surprised if NO took a big step backwards this season.

This, because our offense won't be able to get moving again, even if ginn gives us better field position.

Crossing my fingers that one of those OT's drop to us, and i dont know about you guys, but we need way more than jsut an OT on the oline. I hope we get an OT and a guard in the first round.
10-6
19-0
